View Full Version : Hyosung GT250 stolen at Auckland University (5 May 2011)
Hey just want to get the word out there in case anyone sees my bike - a long shot I know! Was stolen from Symonds st just outside Auckland uni today between 2.30-6.30pm. Apparently quite a few have been stolen around that area lately so also just doing this as a heads up to others that park around there.
The bike is a red 2004 hyosung gt250 comet
plate num 62whp
vin/chassis km4mj51b431100531
done about 16000 km
It doesn't have any distinctive marks or scratches

for 250s its ok(ish) to park there, but yesterday i saw a 1098s parked there a late model monster and several other big expensive bikes. park in the security monitered buisiness buliding guys (which is free for bikes),its not worth the risk. and use a disk lock or even a bike chain.
Yeah I'm kicking myself for parking there as I don't usually, and normally I have a heavy d lock on the wheel as well but yesterday I got lazy and didn't pack it. Certainly have learnt my lesson for next time. Pretty relieved the bike is insured though!

You didn't happen to notice an ice cream truck in the area did you?
It's been recovered!!!!!
Won't find out until tomorrow what condition it is in but there is no mention in the police report of it being pieces so I'm hopeful.
Found in tournament car parking on grafton, not quite sure where that is but it's somewhere damn close to where I parked it so I'm guessing it may have been wheeled away and then they couldn't start it.

ha yes quite sure! :) Not even sure where it is but apparently it's about 500-1000m away down in the grafton gully somewhere. Found out it's actually a common dumping ground for stolen cars/bikes

Good to hear that your bike has been recovered, hope it's still in good nick (pun...sorry). My son lost his plate, rego & wof from Auck Uni last week and had to apply for replacements. Other son at AUT has experienced some minor interference with his bike also. Both Hyosungs.

What actually happened is they stole it took it to the truck and the smart half of the criminal duo said...
"I said steal a GOOD motorcycle!!!"

If bikes are being stolen from the same place all the time, then why does the police not do something about it? :Police:

to non bikers, hyosungs look like ducatis (i literaly had idiots approach me and say this), i had so many people asking how fast and how much and all the rest, its insulting to real bikes. i stand by the fact the hyosung is good to learn on but fuck dont call it a ducati, EVER.
