!!!!OMG!!!!
This movie is definitely a must see.
I don't know if it was the alcohol, the late night screening or the vibration through the seats from the bass when there were big noises on the screen, but this movie had the whole place jump like we were in a Kriss Kross video clip!
All I can keep thinking since I left the theatre is, what an awesome movie. That and driving around expecting to see a large metallic foot crash down infront of me.
I think the all time best conversation from a movie (for me) was early-early on in the movie.
Robbie: Where did they come from?
Ray: Far away from here.
Robbie: What? Like Europe?
Ray: No Robbie. Not from Europe.
Seriously OH....MY....GOD..... what a wicked movie :2thumbsup

The King Kong trailer is on infront of this movie. Like OMG, as we were the first lot to see the trailer (outside of the WETA crew) we got our reactions filmed ... then Channel 1 did small interviews on what we thought of it .... so if ya see on Slippy on the 6 o'clock news ..... I'll be the one shying away :o
Anyway the movie .... looks fasinating .... Jack Black actually looks like he can act a part that isn't a drop out.
And obviously the graphics are mint. Kong is looking good in his old age:yes:
Can't wait to see it :Punk:

Probably. I bet it's not as good as the 1953 version.
CGI replacing acting.

I don't know ... There can't be any movie as good as the one my mind creates when I listen to the double CD (note that this has been remastered & re-released too).
Might wait for it to come out on Sky.

Thought it was rather piss poor. Not really much better than the original (which I have on VCD if anyone wants a copy). I would not reccomd it to anyone. :weird:
Edit: King Kong does look pretty cool

Read the book for those who liked the film also for those who didn't. HG Wells There was a doco (hate that word but saves time) on the History chanell a few weeks back on Wells.. brilliant.
PS Biff got the WAR OF THE WORLDS via Burton myself. Classic.
 ......I thought it rocked so :nya:Innit interesting how you say it rocks while others (guys I might add) thought it sucked? Maybe it was the "alcohol, the late night screening or the vibration through the seats from the bass when there were big noises on the screen"? Or maybe those guys just have bad taste? I'll have to check it out myself I guess.
What did you think of the recent movie "Team America" Slip? :shifty:

Give you that errie "hair standing up on the back of my neck" feeling for you too huh?
WOTW Soundrack is one of my favourite, all time albums, for ever. Never tire of it.

...of re-making old stuff. What about the new series of Dr WHO about to screen on Prime? I'm hoping very much that it will be outstanding. From what I've seen on the "shorts" they haven't "over prettied" it as is so often the trend (and what I suspect of WOTW although I'll still go see it)
I enjoyed Battle Star but only because it was a completely different and later story line.
So that counts out most of the current generation of MotoGP riders then...Does it? Nah, different kind of muppet.

Still have the LP's some where. Must get the CD. Great songs writen for it. My favourite "Thunderchild". Awesome sound effects. Got to laugh though, when you find out that the unscrewing sound used for Martians capsule was made by slowing the sound of a flushing tolet down:rofl:
Any of you young ones that have not heard this album, go to the Libary or an old mate and borrow it. Put the head phones on and close your eyes:Punk: :Punk:
Second place goes the book. H.G. Wells, your not to bad. Bacteria save our bacon:Punk:
Have not seen this version yet, but it has to be a lot better than that crapping one done in the 50's where the Ameracian try using Nukes to win:puke:
Might what until this comes out on DVD. If that's any good I'll get a copy:devil2:

Do any other aged members difficulty finding watchable modern movies?
I've had a gutsfull of special effects replacing talent.
As soon as they show a trailer with explosions and collapsing buildings I scratch it from the list.
And don't start me on Lord of the Rings. I have never nodded off in a movie before that one.

When I lived in London I often went to Hampstead Heath looking for shiney alien spacecraft but found none. I guess they all went to Amerika.

I saw it last night - I'd rate it 6/10 for entertainment.
The special effects were quite good and the story wasn't tooooo far removed from the original.
As expected the acting was just crap.

Not really. There are some good thrillers around. Things like "Mystic River" and "Suspect Zero" are great.

I liked Mystic River, haven't seen the other. Must get it out.
I've got to admit, Tom Cruise starring is a 'must miss' for me.

Theirs or yours ....
Glad you liked it .... and all the others that liked it.
I'm not one of these people who get upset when a movie doesn't follow the book or previous movies etc.... I watch the movie and enjoy or not and "note" the differences.
Tank Girl's movie was majorly different to the comic books (due to beastality concerns) but I still enjoyed it and the comic book as seperate entities.
The Crow movie was better than the comics IMHO too.
But everyone is entitled to their own oppinion....

Felt the same way about X-men, but they did get a lot of that true to the comic and in some areas better.

It's embarrassing when you wake up and realise you're the only one left in the theatre and and you've been dribbling onto your lap rug while you sleep.

Almost right. It was an empty saucepan, scraped very slowly around the inside of a toilet bowl.
(Why do I remember stuff like this?????? I've just realised why I find it hard to learn new skills - my mind is full of completely useless garbage).
What about 'Meet the Feebles'.....Peter Jackson' version of the muppets on acid? :doobey:Weird stuff that  ...Jackson has improved dramatically since then! See he's lost some weight too...lol.
