Tail lights but no brake?

failed wof today because my brake lights not working, front and back brakes dont make brakes light work not sure what it can be?

i checked the fuses but there is only one for tails lights and thats fine. tail lights work fine but not sure how to check where the fault is for why my brake lights dont work, both bulbs are fine and both switchs on back/front brakes look fine and are hooked up.

its weird how front and back brake lights dont work, normally 1 does and 1 doesnt if its a switch fault.

any suguestions?

bulbs are fine, checked the wires they seemed fine too, its all sorta now not sure what was wrong but they both work after i checked with a volt meter

try a bulb out of something else, just to double check, those bulbs are a double filament, not uncommon for ONE filament to burn out and the other be fine

also, uder the levers you will find a little microswitch that activates the brakes, had that fuck out on my cbr600 once. Theyre about $30 to replace. have a look under the levers, youll see it. test the bulbs in a vehicle that you KNOW is going properly. if not bulbs or fuse, i will be a microswitch i reckon

it should, however, he failed on his, WOF, If he KNEW it wasnt working, he would have fixed it BEFORE the wof, so fuck knows how long its not been going, it could have shat itself the day after the last WOF, Brake lights arent something you ever really see on your own bike

Has to be the bulb. Both microvswitches wouldn't die at the same time.

$3 at most gas stations for a bulb isn't much of an expense to elliminate it from the equation.

Try the bulb upside down too to see if the other filament lights up.

Cleaning the bulb holder of any rust and debris is a good idea too.

Sheesh i guess no one read this post - IT'S FIXED AFTER HE CHECKED THE CIRCUITS WITH A VOLTMETER GUYS..... Which means you poked and disturbed something. Look for bad connections anywhere near whatever you poked with the meter. If you fixed it by disturbing stuff, it will break again with vibrations so find it and fix it properly - it's your ass on the line if someone doesn't see your brake lights!
