Okay, done more work on the scooter and refitted the front tire though i had to open the nipple to get the disc brakes in between the brakes which mean't some brake fluid loss. Anyway, need to strip some panels to top up though the front brake(right handle if you face forward on scooter) is still really tight and the back brake( left handle) goes back half way and she says this is normal. This surely needs tightening. Not sure how the rear brake works. From what i see, brake fluid to front brake and rear brake just needs the bolt tightening on the bottom back left sitting on some spring. Can someone explain. I know i need to refill the brake fluid even though the front brake is tight.

You answered your own question. Yes, the rear brake is adjusted by the nut down by the rear wheel that does nothing more than adjusting the slack in the cable that operates the rear drum brake. If there brake feel is soft on the rear, tighten the nut a few turns and recheck.

I swapped my front pads on my Sachs a few weeks ago and didnt need to open up the nipple on the caliper. All I did was slowly press the piston in with my hands, stopping every so often before continuing. Also, i made sure there was no dust or dirt on the side of the piston before I pressed it in. This helps prevent contamination entering the system in addition to destroying the seal, which leads to spongy crappy brake feel.
