First up thanks to AMCC, John Conner and Henk etc. etc. for trusting me with the mighty FXR club bike to dip my toes into the world of buckets.

I was very impressed how easy going everyone was and approachable :grouphug: ... then again it wasn't a race day...

As regards the riding, for me it was just like the big tracks but concentrated down, which is a good thing. I learned heaps, now I am scheming how to get cash together to take the next step, we will see how things develop :innocent:

Anyway, here are the vids from my secret helmet spy cam. Didn't turn out too bad. If you are in some way affiliated with AMCC please don't watch the last few seconds of the first video  sorry!

Nice work.
Thngs are just as sociable on race days and I wouldn't get too worried about droping teh biek off the stand. I've seen other people who have boroowed it crash it twice in a day.
If you do get a bike you'll soon change your mind on how much grip there is in the wet with slicks though.

Thing is those slicks offer up so much grip in general that riding them in the wet felt grippy to me. I still have a way to go before I discover there limits, then I am sure I will see ground - sky - ground - sky - ground.

Talking of bikes, how much should I put in my piggy bank for an FXR of similar caliber and preparedness of the club bike?

To build an FXR ready to race is going to cost between $1500 and 2k depending on how much you get the inital bike for. Plus time.
The going rate on the odd occasion they come up for sale is around the two grand mark but they don't come up often.
This

is for sale at the moment and is worth what Stu is asking for it in my opinion, but people seem to think that buckets should be dirt cheap. This bike would have to be one of the tidiest builds I've seen for sale with no expense spared by the look of it. The fact that it in Chch probaly adds $300 freight to the price.

That is a piece of art!
