Did you tell Kiwibike about your claims?
A very good question

Thats a standard question along with previous convictions etc when setting up an insurance policy yes?

Not when getting a quote.
I'd be surprised if the premium mentioned was correct being as how he's had two "at fault" claims....o'course I've been wrong before...

I was asked when getting a quote last week, I owned up to a ...woopsy (non accident) that occured in 84'...she laughed, but I was being honest and up front.
She said ...''in the last five years''...in that case, then no.
I guess they ask because it could have an effect on you premiums?

Most insurers have a sliding scale - I would expect that if you had a couple of claims last year, you'd be on a full rate.

What I don't like is this.
Say you buy a new bike for $15k, insure it for that amount.
Couple years later they send you a new policy review with the bike devalued to say $13k and they put up your premiums.
So you pay more for a bike worth less?
I had this conversation some years back. Ended up asking the insurance person on the phone for a quote on another bike at the same value as the one we were 'discussing'. The quote for the 'extra' bike was cheaper than the revised price on the existing bike. So I asked to cancel the current policy and then reinsure the bike under the fresh quote. He saw my point and fixed my original policy!

I currently pay $141 ish a month, hell, I'd pay the $60 something.
Can't wait for the new premium after a $18,500 claim
