Had this sort of thing happen to me a couple of times, people taking exception to the fact that i am going to pass them.Luckily i have never been hurt by it,apart from a sore foot once from kicking some little shits door on what i presumed was his mummy or daddys car.

Nope. Never come across that - the real mccoy.
But....often come across young fuckhead citydwellers, usually well dressed, manicured, and sitting in their fucking air conditioned shitboxes, that deliberately close riiiiight up to the car in front of them when they see you approaching in city traffic - so you cannot squeeze in. Or slowly touch left/right so theirs no room for you to lane split. Not saying these fuck=heads would actually let a contact occur - but they sure do deter you from trying to pass.
Angry? Yeah you bet.
Headbutted their sidewindows while wearing a full face helmet? Not yet.

yep
coming back from up north after new year in the tailback at warkwarth had van swerve from far left of lane to centreline as I came passed, & yes he had seen me coming as I wasnt going that fast. Hurt hand as punched mirror but it swung right around:yes:
Quite common when splitting on southern Mway to have cars try to block by driving on the lines, but I dont go there any more, yeh

An extreme case, but that sort of shit happens all the time.
"Safe" in their caged world, many will act out Road Warrior / Road Sheriff fantasies, using their ton-and-a-half of wheeled steel as a Transformer-type weapon to control others.
Twice in the last year I've had people swerve across the road in an attempt to block an overtaking move.
More common is the roar of acceleration to block someone who indicates a desire to change lanes.
Angry little people with tiny minds...

You split on the southern? I can't do it, it's sooo narrow compared to the northern. I couldn't work out if it's just afternoon traffic mentality that makes the space disappear compared to the morning trek into the city but there's definitely a lot less room.
Is it intentional road rage if I know a cars going to cut in front of me and I don't really brake when I could? I don't want to cause an accident, I just want them to be scared into not doing it again. I know I shouldn't really do it... but man do I get angry when I have to brake when I'm trying to save fuel in ma car :innocent:

Ive had it once dude in his "shiny" hilux wanted to stop me from using the bike lane so much, he even went as far as to force some dude in his honda accord off the road just to stop me passing... needless to say I just went round the other side of him:yes:

I have had a few boy racers try it on me, they didnt like the fact that they were pushing 140 and I was overtaking them at 170,
But I live down a road that only has 2 lanes, water on one side and a cliff on the other and alot of blind corners with the odd place to pass, I came up to one of those spots and there was a car infront of me, a ute, and a little further ahead was a truck or camper or something like that, its a 70km/h road and the ute was holding everyone up at 40 so this particular stretch your on the water side heading away from town so your on the left lane, and the road sweeps left then there is a blind right but there is a huge amount of space to safely over take and some, so I indicated and what not and over took the car and was about to overtake the ute and he stood on the gas and speed matched me, (this was when I was on my 250) I tried to slow down and get behind him and he done the same and all sorts, in the end I just scraped infront of him as a car came around from the aproching corner, a second longer and I would have been windscreen smear,
I have never been so close to having a head on collision, I could smell the car freshner..

At lights I often weazel to the front on my scooter. The wee Honda hoofs off the line fairly well, but quite often it'll be a drag with one of the lead cages.
You just got ahead of them in line is all. (and you wear a gas mask)

had that done to me a couple of weeks ago by a boy racer in a honda prelude. he was going about 40 in a 50 zone and slowing everyone up and i was right behind his car. We came up to a part of the road where it splits into 2 lanes, he chose the right lane. and i was about 6m behind him when i opened up the throttle to move over to the left lane and overtake him but he thought it would be funny to swerve (in every sense of the word) into my lane, naturally i braked but somehow i failed to flick the throttle off while reaching for the brake lever. Did a little rolling burnout right behind him before managing to pull in the clutch and ended up about half a meter from him absolutely crapping myself.
was really temped to get next to him and punch through his driver window

"his bail COULD be revoked"???????:shit::shit::shit::shit:
let me understand: this little idiot intentionally wanted to kill someone just because this latter stupid tried a left pass, and this dear mummy heart judge doesn't even keep him away from driving again?
...and i thought great judges were all here in italy....

Like said above it's the Sheriff on the road, and I'm in my little world of my safe car brigade.

yes had it a few times. Classic up the Gorge where a ute nearly changed lanes to prevent me. Only split up the gorge in stalled traffic so plenty of time to go around his rear and out the front again, actually made it easier for me in the end :woohoo: Bet the temp in his ute went up and no heater required.

By some big fat bastard on a harley because i overtook him,he was yelling out some shit when i pulled up as I was taking my helmet off. I just laughed at him and told him to go fuck himself or get of the bike and he rode away and nearly lost it on the big right-hander up the road.

I do about 100Kms per workday on Auckland's motorways during rush hour. I'll always split if current speed is less than or equal to 90km/h. I get to see a pretty good representation of commuters and I've gotta say that 99.9% of drivers have human-like personas; they make space if they notice you and generally aren't dicks.
The other 0.1% though.... What I find is they will beep at me after I've already passed them. They sit there all chuffed with themselves that they're in the fast lane in an expensive car and are therefore UN-OVERTAKEABLE. But then oh noes! What has befallen me? I've been passed by a biker in a lane that doesn't exist and I didn't even see him so couldn't block him. I'll just beep even though I've already been rendered impotent.
OK, so I can't actually read minds but that's what I imagine goes through their heads.

On the wee 2fiddy I had a couple of people close gaps while splitting. Doesn't happen on the RSV anymore, but I did get a beep this morning while heading up the bridge, no idea why.
Quick Auckland salute and on my way, made my day that did.

You lane split when the traffic's going at 90?! You brave brave man.
I daren't unless the traffic is going less than 60 otherwise the gaps get too big and way too much lane changing starts happening for my liking. I've never seen any biker splitting when traffic's at 90 though :shit:

I've had a car swerve left and right in front of me (across two lanes!) on a motorway onramp once to prevent me from passing on my motorbike.
I just slowed right down. Don't want to be around a crazy idiot like that.

Gee you young people .. some of us used to "lane split" at 130 klicks on the open road - dual carraiage way ... we called it "white lining" ... (Something's happened and I don't do it any more ... just got old and more fearful maybe?)
Road rage? Yeah - I've had similar things happen .. once in the Manawatu Gorge I was behind a truck and trailer (going slow) followed by a Holden ... I waited and waited, the Holden didn't pull out - so I did .. and then the Holden moved - driver with a stupid grin on his face as he looked at me in the rearview mirror .. I don't think he realised how close he was to putting me into the cliff face ...
And another Holden (strange that) in the passing lanes on the Takapau Plains .. went down the right lane (with me behind) then refused to pull back into the left lane to let me passed ... I dropped it down a gear and went round him anyway (he was at 160 klicks - I went past 200 klicks ... changing gear along side his (open) drivers window ..
And a few other "boy racers" who think they can take on a bike ..
Too much testosterone (and yeah, I can be as bad for the testosterone but never enough to deliberately hurt someone else)
What is the penalty for assault with intent to cause injury/death? This retard should be facing that penalty and he can have his driving licence back when he is 40.
To tell the truth I would not want to be walking the streets looking like that guy right now. I would expect to get the shit kicked out of me...

Ehhh.
Road ragers, don't let them get to me personally.
But every now and then some clown in a can tries to do something dumb and dangerous because they have a problem with me using "their" road.
I live by the motto- "their panel damage...could be our life!" ....hence I don't give any argument on the bike, I just get the hell out of their way....that way their problem dosn't become my hospital bill.

Saw it happen in front of me the week after the Feb earthquake. Heading up Johns Road in walking speed traffic and myself and a guy on a ratty old GN250 were toodling sedately up the bike lane on the left of traffic. A guy in a Hilux obviously took exception and suddenly swerved into the bike lane when the GN250 guy was just a couple of car lengths behind him. He avoided him fairly well and then just carried on off unconcerned into the distance which I guess was a pretty good response
And actually now that I think about it, many years ago I was riding through Oamaru at night with my girlfriend on the back when a guy having tailgated for a bit came up beside me and started veering in towards me. I pulled in behind a parked car as that seemed a sensible option. Fortunately a mufti-cop coming the other way saw it all, turned around and chased the guy. Caught him and the guy was done for D.I.C (although I guess you call it E.B.A. now)
