View Full Version : Actrix Winter Series Round 2 - get your entries in!
Skunk
16th May 2011, 23:17
Now is the time to sort out your entries for Round 2. Long track, two days - this may be your very last chance to ride the long track! 18 and 19 June.
BEARS
The big news - we will take entries for BEARS to run on the same grid as F2. That means cross entries from F1 as well as new entries. One catch: 1. it will not be a series class (no trophy, no certificates - just class results) and entries will be limited to 35 bikes total with F2 bikes taking first option. If the response is good we will look at BEARS as a class next year. This year is your chance to let us know you're serious.
Entry forms are on the Vic Club website (http://www.vicclub.co.nz) in the left hand column under 'Handy Forms'. The proposed Race programme is on the coming events page.
Any questions to entry@vicclub.co.nz.

Sweet! Well done Vic Club for a terrific round one and for giving the Bears a chance to play too. Now how about letting Motards in F3 with a supplementary about how they race? i.e..Use Roadrace technics etc.. They arn't all hooligans..

Good try Martindale but there is only 1 Real Racer that sits on that bike and l Married him. After the photo l have of you at our Wedding looking at the Ducati with your finger in your mouth was enough for me.
If you were a Ducati Lover like we are then maybe things would be different but,....... l'm still getting over that photo which saids it all to me what you really think of Italian Motorcycles. Sooooooo Sad. :(:gob:
You just stick to your Hondas ok?.

Is a SXV a BEARS bike??? or are we still not wanted?
Good point Andy and one I agree with.......why is Vic Club so anti Motard?

They are not ANTI motard - they ran a motard class but entries dried up.
Motard can't run with other "road" classes.

And why is that?
Yes Wharfy and this year all the entries have dried up. This is like the old "no 600's in F1 class argument. So why are Motards so dreaded by "Road Bikes"? Because some Motard riders stick their feet out when entering corners? Watch Moto GP some time, and besides, I recall they banned Motard riders from doing this as a condition of entry into F3, then totally banned them anyway.
No problem with how things are run, Str8 jacket, Vic Club always do a great job, just a thought on why Motard riders on eligible engine capacity bikes can't enter classes of their choice.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Forums were a place to share ideas etc. Seems like anytime someone expresses an opinion, they get jumped on and told to attend a meeting or join a commitee. If a Vic club member wants to express an opinion on here, good on them. It does'nt have to be taken as a slight on the Club. And these guy's are'nt asking for a Motard Class if you read carefully. Just a chance to run what's in their shed. Obviously, rightly or wrongly, they feel they are not wanted. Do we have such full grids that we can turn away riders?
P.s.. Bet I get a smart arse response from someone on this post,, just watch..

Well I'll try not to be "smart arsed" - even though I am well endowed in the arse department !
Admittedly the F2 grid isn't overflowing as it was in 2009 (hence the invite for BEARS next round) but it hasn't dried up completely.
I don't think Motards are "dreaded" by road based bike racers, but the riding styles are incompatible. The ban on Motards in road race classes is not exclusive to the VIC club, there is quite a bit of history behind it. Yes VIC Club tried the "ride it like a road race bike" scenario and it didn't work out.
If you've got one in the shed put some clip-ons on it, assume the position and you will be able to race in an appropriate road race class for the engine capacity (and maybe BEARS )
Rossi and co taking their foot of the peg approaching a corner is not even close to how "Speedy Gonzzini" ( one of the best motard riders I've actually seen in action - and an Italian as well ) gets his bike round a corner.

Oh OK. So it's just about the handlebars then. I assume Mr Sales won't be allowed to carve up the Posties anymore on his XR then. That's a real shame,, I love to watch him work his magic. And anyone with a Tuono, Multistrada, Hornet etc will have to fit clipons too. Robert Holden used handlebars. Graeme Crosby used handlebars. It's too silly for words really. Obviously some pussy in F3 got their hat handed to them by a Motard and now they all have a phobia about being carved up. Anyway,, I'm over it. If the Motard guy's want it changed they will step up. Mine is still in bits so I'll crawl back under my rock. I still think it's a croc..

You are right to share your ideas .. and being directed to the right place to do that is, I would have thought, appropriate.
If you share on here, don't expect them to be considered - in fact, don't expect them to be read and taken to the committee and considered at all. Don't care if you think this is smart arsed but think you should consider that this is not a "vic club" forum although vic uses this to get information out - and may request information for consideration - it is not something that is required of the clubs processes.
So smart arse or not - if you want your ideas considered go to the bloody commitee meeting.

 I don't usually reply to shit like this but... seriously?? You're bitchin and whinging about not being able to enter your bike and you don't even have one in one piece that you could run in the first place?
If you want to run a motard, then get a few of your motarded mates to rock up so that there is more than 6 of you. Then you can have your own class. Simples. However, please stop beating on a great bunch of people (vic club) who try their hardest to please as many people as possible as much of the time as possible and do a great job.
Gee Luke, you see things I don't. No one's bitching, just expressing their opinions as mentioned earlier, in a forum for just that purpose. And , once again, we all agree the Vic Club does a great job. And have you counted the F2 entries this year? Did you enter? Cheers.

Lets try to keep this discussion rational, accusing F3 riders of being pussies will not help your case. I believe there were good reasons for the decision to separate motards from road bike classes and that those reasons are still valid.
It's not JUST about the handlebars, but the handlebars used by Holden,Crosby (and some of the people in Clubmans and F3) were/are not MX bars. I suggested clippons as they would be a clear indication that the bike was not going to be ridden MX style but any low short style bars would probably be OK, put your bike together, make it look as much like a road bike as you can, I am pretty sure the VIC club race officials would be prepared to at least check it out with a view to letting you run it in F3/BEARS/clubmans whatever ( but it is not MY decision to make )
Also my understanding is that when the decision was made by the VIC club to separate motard from F3 that Mr Sales was asked to choose which class to ride in as his bike (and riding style) was appropriate for F3 and there are no moves to oust him from the class.
Below are some of NZ top Motard riders - Rossi has a long way to go to match them for foot waving :)

Motards are too slow and its too easy for them to be overly aggressive. No I havnt had my arse handed to me by a motard... ever and yes I am overly aggressive on a motard

I love motards mate, actually I love proper supermoto even more! Motard is the soft option and supermoto is non existent in NZ. I did the 3hr supermoto in Taupo that was fun!
Still motards shouldnt race with road bikes. I promise to organise a proper supermoto event in the next 18 months

what was your earlier comment about a smart arse reply ? pot kettle lol
you haven't done your cause any favours dude
chris sales and gavin (forget last name) have been racing their 'motards' in 'road race' classes for ages - i'm pretty sure chris doesn't run 'high' bars and gavin has clip ons - they ride road racer style as requested (not just by vic club) and so no problem - but not all do
your choice if you decide to pull your head from your arse....i mean crawl out from under that rock

Fair call. But I never suggested anything other than acceptable road race techniques and it was not about me only either. I was hoping to wave the flag for any poor tarder out there who felt left out. I did kinda start the Bears class review which hopefully turns out as a result. Jeez if nobody enters that class I'm toast!! Just wanted to air the missed possibilties. Anyway, I totally support the club, I've been a member forever and my better half is on the commitee,, god bless her. You have all done very well! Carry on! As you were! p.s.. That popping noise is my head coming out of my arse!
