hey guys, i have inherited a 1988 LS400 savage that is a little worse for wear at the moment due to storage in the midst of sea spray. So alot of the parts are corroded + Rusted. I was wondering if anyone out there has any parts i could throw towards getting this thing back to its former glory in a different style :). Im after engine covers, Crank cover etc. Handle bar controls so Headlight / Stop, Start switch / indicator switch etc. Brake pedal, New Rims F & R. Any help would be hugely appreciated :)

Thanks!

You could go after market for switch gear. The Enfeild stuff on TM is damn cheap and readily available. Wreckers for levers etc. Can the covers be sanded and polished up? The S40(formerly the Savage 650) is the 650 version so there's another source of bits.

The Jap market had these:

Thanks heaps for the info! Im completely new to these bikes so didnt know where to start but you have given me the perfect place :)!

The covers are a tad far gone, 2 years of sea spray and left to rot pretty much :(

Some interesting things can be done:

I have been looking all over the internet at different style savage "Bobbers" and there is such a wide range of things possible. That cafe racer is a prime example :)
