Anyone else get a ticket from the boys in blue?

That road is stacked from start to finish heading to the shore every morning, EVERY bike passes on the median (its 10ft wide and oncoming traffic is almost non-existant), yet the cops decided to setup an op to ticket them all.

Grrr. $150, at least i talked my way out of rego being on hold...

Only when theres no cops around.

the good old safe verses legal. Riding on the Medium, whilst it might be safer, is not legal if you are overtaking.

Why else would you ride on them if you not overtaking?

You could argue that were intending turning right (but make sure there is a right turn within sight first:facepalm:)

One cop standing opposite the school, with a radio, then two officers by the curry house carpark that would wave you in.

Instead of busting motorbike's going down the median...... why don't they sit at the Hobsonville and NW motorway controlled intersection and get all the RED light runners.

Infringement? Its a criminal case surely - bring back capital punishment.

Got no dramas with overtaking and speeding a bit on the Median strip - but approaching an intersection, or going past a school zone on a week day, maybe pull back into the lane till passed it?

And yeah - Im proly going to be flamed again.

Only the three cops? When I went past there was 1 cop car on the median by the RSA, 1 guy really sneakily hidden with his radio behind a tree just before Brigham creek road with his cop car out of sight in the parking lot of West Harbour Wine and Spirits. Then at the curry house there were 3 cop cars with the officers lined up beside the road. They seemed to be set up for the people going to the north shore. Sure the opposite route isn't as busy but I still see the odd bike splitting that way.

Total 5 cop cars that I saw in 500m. All highway patrol. Could've been more guys hiding (didn't see one near the school). Talk about knuckling down...

Well there is a drive through coffee shop near there, maybe they sell donuts and that is the real reason why the cops are hanging out...

You should see how most riders behave on this stretch. I have not seen a single day in the past year where there was not at least one rider doing really dangerous moves. I have my first aid kit readily available in the mornings

The police are there for a reason. I personally saw three accidents caused by a bike that just cut in where not safe causing the car to emergency break causing an accident. The rider buggering off without even looking.
