There are lots of cages that flash on coming vehicles I know, either to warn about hazards or coppers, or just on purpose to make you slow down...
What ticks me off is doing 100k in a 100k zone and an on coming driver doing clearly less than 100 flashes you to TRY and make you slow down.... At least that was my conclusion; no copper, speed camera or hazard. You just flashed me for no reason because you can't drive a car at 100.... That is not my fault (and I didn't slow down)....
Rant over. Thanks for reading.

Ok, some people just seem to think that they are the law,or just have problems with bikes or just fucked in the head. Can understand people are flashing to warn of some accident of stock on the road or some other hazard, but some people are just anal.Fact of life.Does piss you off though if your in your grove cruising at 140/160 and some bastard flashes and ya haul on the picks, and sorta lose your mojo for a bit and theres nothing there.

Perhaps the OP is one?
Drivers flash for all sorts of reasons. Many's the time I've been flashed and there has been nary a sight of anything seemingly worthy of it. I don't give it a second thought other than using it as a reminder to keep my eyes peeled and every now and again on my speedo...

Happens a lot for me at night, they think I'm running on high beams... then I flick them on...
Go ride through Bosnia and then complain.
Or here...where drivers here flash because there is a Cop ahead or...
.... when they are overtaking a car and are approaching you on your side of the road to tell you to move or....
....when they come up behind you on a blind corner and flash because the want to do the decent thing and warn you before they overtake you on a blind corner or...
.... flash and sound the horn behind you because you are doing less than 20km over the limit and they are running late.
So when a car is approaching you flashing, with another car beside it approaching you flashing, while you have a car up your chuff flashing and sounding the horn as you have just been overtaken on a blind corner....indicate and pull over for a little lay down till the nerves settle.
All of the above in normal here though not usually all at the same time.

had a cop flash (headlight flash not blue red flash) a bunch of us on bikes on a group ride back from akaroa a while ago, we were going a wee bit too fast on a downhill slope and he came around the hill infront of us. fully surprised he didnt just do a u-turn and pull us over.

What's wrong with your low beam that people think you are running high beam? If it is happening a lot as you say you should get it seen to.

It's powerful. People don't expect it to be that strong. Once I do a quick flash of high beam, they stop. I spend money on my lights (and buy bikes with good lights), as I ride a lot at night. Same occurred with my previous bike.
It's probably below the legal settings currently, as people kept flashing me.
