So anyway……
In 1931 the first New Zealand TT race was run on an unsealed road on Waiheke Island. The race was won by Sid Moses, who, among other things, introduced decimal currency to New Zealand.
The race started in Ostend. The route was along Belgium St, Ostend Rd, Onetangi Rd and then around the Seaview Rd loop. Each lap was 6 3/4 miles. 1931's race was 20 laps but in 1932 this was increased to 25 laps giving a total distance o...f 168 miles.
Throughout the 1930’s the Waiheke TT Race became a more popular event, notable even for the 1932 Rudge motorcycle that won an incredible four TT races.
A notable winner of the race was the late Len Perry who won eight races in all earning him the nickname the ‘King of Waiheke’.
But enough of the Wikigoogle stuff.......
lets get our gear on and head across the water for a day of fun and frolics on Waiheke Island.
Yes indeed folks, the FBMC will be heading orf across the water to fabulous Waiheke Island to take in the great scenery, ride a few laps of the famous TT circuit and have a great big feed at some point.
When: Sunday 30th October 2011
Where: Half Moon Bay ferry terminal
Time: 9.30am to catch the 10.00am ferry over, returning on the 3.00pm ferry back (or sooner if the place runs out of pies)
Why: Why not, stupid f*****g question
FBMC have negociated fare discounts for the ferry, details to be confirmed soon.
Also, special FBMC Waiheke TT Run T Shirts will be available and the orders will be taken in the next couple of weeks
This will be a charity event as per usual and will involve the usual FBMC mix of riding, eating and fecking around.
See you there, don’t rock the boat eh….

Gidday my lovelies,
Check out this email from the Ferry Company regarding who to contact when making your boooking to get the special FBMC fare deal:
Hi Max,
I have been in touch with Jeannine Hodson regarding this group,
I have currently held 40 Bike spaces onboard our 10am service 30th Oct and 3pm service,
As this is a rather large group this is hard to maintain the deal we are offering,
I would prefer that I am the main contact for this either by phone or email to secure these bookings.
Not all of my team are aware of this deal and I would hate for any of your group to miss out on this rate we are offering.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me on 09 300 5900 or via email,
Regards,
Stacey Redshaw | Groups & Holidays SpecialistP (09) 300 5900 |FAX (09) 3790784
So me hearties, your contact at the Fery Co is Stacey, she will be discounting yer pieces of eight and all that, eh,,,,,
Get in as soon as to reserve your place.....and to make sure there are plenty of pies in the galley ahh haaa......:woohoo:

Just over a week to go before the FBMC cruise the high seas to take on the Waiheke TT Course.
The local police are all cool, as is the local papers who are running a story on the event. We will be raising money for the LifeKidz programme to buy a new transporter for the kids and, weather permitting, some of the families will be meeting us off the ferry when we get gack for photos etc. The local rag here is covering it as well.
There is also a lot of interest in the FBMC 'Lycra Lap'.......you will really need to be there for that, eh......
So, the last of the event shirts have been delivered, any final details will be posted in the events section of the FBMC website at www.fatbikersmc.co.nz
Looking forward to this one, should be a hoot

Seems to me , you've been a very busy little FM there Mark. Nice work mate.
I'm definitely coming and I'm bringing the big bike, no wussing about now. I do think it a good idea to have a quick walk on and off the ferry before attempting to ride any bikes straight on, the ramp is usually dry but the step can be anything from 2 inches to 4 so depending on which ferry, we may want to make sure there are people alongside those who'd like there to be, as they ride on.
Really don't think it's going to be an issue but for those worried about it, we will be there to help.
See ya there then, last one at the terminal is a pansy.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along to the Waiheke TT Memorial Run & Fundraiser today. We had great weather, brilliant company, a cracking lunch and raised a huge amount of money for the Lifekidz programme.
Fair to say that the Waiheke locals were great and really went out of their way to look after us. So much so that this will now become an annual event in the FBMC calendar, one which I know we will all enjoy year after year.
Days like today make me so proud to be involved with this club and the people that I have the pleasure to ride with. I meant it when I said that that you are all legends and the most generous people I have ever met, not just with your money but with your time and friendship.
We have a club to be proud of because of the people like you that are in it. Thanks again for making today the outstanding success that it was.
Take care, ride safe and eat pies

Thank you so very much for organising such a fabulous day Mark!
You even managed to get the weather to play the game.
It was such a fun day.
A huge thank you to the "Lycra Lads" - you were very brave and it was so entertaining.
The looks on the faces of the people that you passed were classic - they couldn't quite believe what they were seeing.
Can't wait for the next FBMC run.
Cheers
Luce.
