Repair/replacing fairings on a '93 CBR600

A few weeks ago I went for a nice low slide and munted my left side fairings. There's a big scrape and a crack on the front left, and the rear left snapped in half. There's also a nice hole in the right from when some dickhead pushed the bike over at night a while before that, so all in all the only panel that isn't damaged is the front right.

I've been quoted over $1000 to have the whole thing fixed/sanded/painted, and not so keen for that.

We are looking at using these guys for the Mrs bike but still need too allow for painting and decals on top of the fairing price,

Plastic weilding is ok But have found that it tends too make the fairing more brittle and prone to cracking

I think I'll take the opportunity to change the colour of the bike, I'm not a huge fan of the 2-tone black/silver. Might go straight gloss black, no decals.

Contact hayd3n on here. he is a plastic fabricator and does some really great work, and has fixed alot of peoples fairings on here from all over the place, youll be surprised how cheap he will do them for you.

I have had a few of my old bikes (and the wifes old one) fixed by him and can vouch for the qaulity of his work.

Youll have PLENTY of coin left over to get them repainted a different colour if thats the way you want to go.

Thanks, that's a bunch of good ideas. Pretty happy I didn't go ahead and order from those guys then.

The worst off panel was the rear left, snapped into three pieces. So I've ordered just that panel from RaceEvolution ($149) to see what it's like. If it's a crappy piece then it's still better than a broken one. If it's good then I'll order some more parts and paint them myself. I'm happier to potentially waste $150 than $600+ on a kit that might not even arrive :shit:
