Posted here as an inspiration (or not) for those who don't like wet roads..

Shamelessly pinched from elsewhere & if it's a repost I grovel.

They're practicing the ancient art of look where you want to go. I just played that to my oldest son (Tim - 11) and he commented on it too - how they more their head well before the corner - makes a lot of sense if you've done this stuff.

Some great inside peg weighting on the supermotard getting the back out - those bikes really are the shit when it comes to lean angles and grip.

gt find

All I would need is some diesel, whilte lines, lost manhole covers, tram lines, cobble stones, 6inch pot holes ,black ice, black cabs and snow and it'll feel like the old days of DRing

nice section of road after 2 vd go pro effort. looks an excellent riding surface

Judging by the numbers all partisipants wore ... they were NOT amatuer's ...

I think they may have marshalls positioned on the course using flags to indicate whether a section of the course has been completed cleanly.

Might be wrong though.

Holy shit, thanks for the videos! Been looking for gymkhana rain videos for ages now! Hahaha look at that guy at 1.06 in the first one it's like he's trying to turn it hard through a lake!!!

That motard is on slick tyres isn't it!?

Every time I see these videos I feel like finding an insurance write off, smashed plastics, & turning it into a gymkhana toy. Cheap & cheerful. Just need an event... It's slow enough even for me but still very skillful. I bet most of them are Tokyo couriers, nuff said!

I too was looking at the first one, about 1:07 where the bike looks like it hits a water trough! Looked like the oogies were doing their jobs... I'd still like to get some fitted to my bike, not that I'm about to go practicing what those guys were doing even in the dry (let alone the abundant liquid sunshine)

Why I bought a motard and I'm loving it. So crashable.

This form of motorsport needs to start in NZ now! Nearly any kind of bike can compete and do finel, minimal expenses, no danger, maximum accessibility. This is good stuff.

I wonder if using a trials bike would be classed as cheating?:scooter:

Reminds me of a bucket race up at the Slipway in Wgtn a couple of years ago - was hosing down (and freezing and windy). Left a wake in the surface water as you rode through it.

Apart from all the obvious skills I'm lacking for a competition like this, the one I probably wouldn't overcome is forgetting the feckin course.

Would love to give it a crack anyway, it would be a hell of a sense of achievement building up to a eventually doing a clean run.

Annual recertifications for the NZ Police riders. Not as hard out, but the bikes weigh a bloody ton. Try throwing one of them around.

Does that imply I need to pull finger & get some engine bars, bubble wrap my plastics & get some oggy knobs?
