You'd hope they sort the duct tape problem soon then.

New Ducati 1200R Superbike. Bye bye 1198 :bye:
Apparently: Monocoque frame like the GP bikes (no word on whether carbon or aluminium at this stage, V twin as opposed to L twin (rotated backwards in chassis)

And yes, TOP SECRET so please delete this thread after reading.

Just the usual fit and finish gremlins any Ducati owner has to put up with. Still goes ok.

Where's the problem? Looks like it's stuck OK to me....

It looks like the shock goes directly from swing arm to engine mount, without any linkage?

Is ride height gonna be more of pain than usual to keep, with that eccentric wheel hub?

I thought it was gonna be carbon on the flash ones, and ally on the poor mans version?

It's a bit sad that they're suggesting that Ducati will be dropping the desmodromic valves and losing the single sided swing arm, and maybe moving to a wet clutch - All the stuff that gives Ducatis character.

The one in the pic looks like its still got a singlesided swingarm.

Most of the reports I've seen are talking aluminium (example: http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/racing/2012-ducati-superquadrata-superbike-testing-mugello/) and I read a while back that Ducati had homologated the aluminium monocoque. I'd imagine the alloy frame would be cheaper to produce too, but a carbon one would be trick. Seems everyone is guessing at present as this article on the same site is talking carbon.... http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/rumors/2012-ducati-superbike-20-hp20-lbs/
Be interesting to see what they come up with :corn:
