View Full Version : Recovery
Did the one thing I hoped never do yesterday and highsided , resulting in a broken collar bone and being very beaten up. Ambo's and AnE looked after me nicely but now looking for any pearls of wisdom around recoveries.
I have a good Physio who I'll go see next week but if there is anything that helps with the recovery I'd appreciate the info.

Yeah, don't treat your bike so badly next time...
Glad you're okay, sorta, though if you know what I mean! Like in that you're alive and walking, still!
Not much in the way of pearls of wisdom, but do what your physio tells you.
I reckon it was the bike treating me badly this time

You are now required to tell how it happened, for the KB postmortem. Someone might learn from it, it's always nice to know what to avoid. Heal well.

Dont try to do too much too soon, it can impede your recovery further. Listen to your physio, make sure you follow any exercises etc your physio gives you to the letter.
Heal up quick!!!

Let's look after ourselves.
Wouldn't that be wonderful?
Been to the Hospital today and being referred to the Surgeon on Monday, it maybe to displaced to heal without some help so I'll find out on then.
As far as what happened it's a little vague as was knocked out and can't remember anything after it letting go on me. I remember pulling into a 2 lane roundabout and the back end snapping hard round to full steering lock then I believe I did an impression of a MotoGP highside.
I'm waiting to hear from the Police as to what they found if anything but I know I wasn't going quick so I can only guess I hit a patch of diesel or similar to make it snap like that, unless the Police found something might not know which will be pretty damn annoying.
One thing I found out is even if you're not going fast the grooved asphalt they do in roundabouts shreds your bike gear, having bike gear cover in your insurance is a good thing.
Analise what happened.

Not sure why having an accident is retarded?

I'm not yet convinced it was an 'accident'.

Wishing you all the best for your recovery mate. Putting the incident aside, just hoping you heal well. From knowing what its like to be in serious healing mode DO listen to your physio and docs. Don't ever push it more than you feel up to. As someone said in an earlier reply, let it heal properly first time or you may never heal fully. My bin was 3 months ago and my shoulder and leg are still causing me huge pain and limit my movements. So, it may take time, but be patient.
All the best.

Shit your funny mate, you tell me I'm retarded for having an accident without knowing me or any of the facts, I asked for some info on recovery and you give me crap. :tugger:
To those riders that actually contributed to my question of recovery thanks for your input, I will be sure to take all the advice of my Physio and Surgeon and luckily have very good ones.
