View Full Version : Auckland bucket numbers, again

Coming up to the end of the season so I thought I throw the AK bucket numbers list together again. I'll probably do a revision next week if we have any new punters after the last round of this points season. I've put the Wellington numbers together as best as I can but am open to correction. Nothing from Roys Hill this time as the HB results don't have numbers against them.

For anyone planning on turning up in Auckland for the first time it is suposed to work like this.

1. If someone else has used a number in the current or previous season they have the right to use it.
2. Numbers shouldn't be repeated across classes, so if you want to use a number in F4 that has been used in F5 tough luck and vice versa
3. Two digit numbers only
4. F4 white numbers on a black background, F5 black numbers on a white background.
5. In the unlikely event that you are going to go to other tracks, try and pick a number that hasn't been used there.
6. If the long suffering folk in lap scoring can't read your number you won't get lap scored, their job is hard enough as it is.
7. You can't reserve numbers, if you want it race with it. Practice days don't count

There are 33 numbers that haven't been used in the 2010/2011 season and 18 that haven't been used for the past two seasons. Probably safer to pick one of the 18, people do reappear from time to time.

I had a play with linking names to photos off Damiens flikr page but to be honest I probably won't bother since it takes a hell of a long time to do. If anyone wants to continue with it feel free.

Updated for the end of the 2010/2011 season.
Added the HB numbers (thanks Pete) and added 199 to keep Helen happy.
Steve, I'm going to stick to not reserving numbers for now, I'm sure Shaun will nail 98 down early in the new season.
I'll try and keep this up to date, I usually lose interest and have to start all over again when I'm building another bike.

Please put me down for #28 in Wellington.

Brill. It's good to have a unique-in-the-north-island number!

Haven't done anything for a while but can if there is demand.
May become less of an issue with Transponders and all.
Most tracks hate three digit numbers by the way, 2 max has been the rule at Mt Welly up til now, easier on the lap scorers.

Ok #51 seems available between 2 fast guys and I don't want to upset the lap scorers

50 David Diprose
51 B grade Tim ?????
52 Richard Ford

I just report the numbers, I don't assign them.
Every time I do a new version of the spreadsheet I get people telling me I missed a few.
What I have done in the past is run through published race results on the inter webs to see what was being used when I needed a number for a bike I was building.
I've also used he theory that if you don't show up for 12 months your number is fair game.
At the end of the day the best person to talk to is probably your local friendly lap scorer

Make it big and clear. My number grew significantly after my first try at lap scoring.

Nice job Henk. I'm actually using #38 on another bucket and my daughter Amy is running #19 so can you please add them to the Wellington list.
