Crikey! 18 and having stuff like that done... What is Wolf-parkinson White? Too many signals to the heart or something?

aren't we at an amazing age? Heart surgery by entering in via a main vein in the leg.. and the recovery period being almost nothing by comparison..
My bro had a PICC line in his arm. Basically he had to administer his own meds, which went into the main vein in his arm, and ended just above his heart, just to get the meds to the core of his body.. amazing..

hope you recomver quick, just chill out to some easy goin DVDs and take care! :niceone:

I had mine when I was 4. No fancy micro surgery for me. They just cracked my ribs apart and went in directly (ie, open heart). Without the op I would of died before I was 10. It took them 2 years to figure what was wrong. Made a huge difference to my life.

PS: Stonechucker also qualifies now :Punk:

Had an angioscopy done in much the same way after a heart attack last year. Went in the same way, got up to the heart and injected some dye, so the could see where the blockage was. There was a blockage but not serious enough to require the angioplasty, where a balloon is inserted into the vein and inflated to open it up, and then a stent is inserted to hold it open. It's quite cool that they position a monitor so you can see whats going on inside.

thanks guys,

yer i recon its amazin what they do aye, they where speedin up and slowin down my heart beat electronical :S, haha
i'll still be able to throw the bike around, don't worry, haha.
oh yup pete, i had a customer tell me about it before i went it for my surgery, haha, even tho i was gettin sothing a bit different.

leg still sore, fells like ive pulled a muscle

tonyb, wolf parkinsin white, is preatty much too many signals going to the heart, to put it short, sometimes the signals (from the brain to the heart, tellin it went to beat) will backtrack on each other, and will send like double the signal, so instead of my heart beatin at like 70bpm, it would be 140bpm +. and some people faint, but i mostly just felt wierd, and bit light headed, it would beat that fast for about 10mins then just 'click', back to normal heart beat speed. yer and all they did was burn the extra pathway. i only got it like 2-3 times a month
