Hi - Okay I am new to the forum and to riding bikes!

I have spent many years on the back of my hubbies bike and loving it!
Now my son seems to have replaced me on the back so decided it was about time I got my own license. Wasn't sure I could do it and actually mentiones as a passing comment that I might like to one day and a week later there is a nice shiny new CBR125R sat in the garage waiting for me when I get home from work.

Hubby wasn't going to miss an opportunity like that to get me riding!

6 months on and loving riding BUT I have booked my restricted test for Tuesday and am absoulutely terrified and this time of year is not favourable actually it is bloody cold and horrible today!
The general riding isn't an issue but not looking forward to the U Turn :-( Any advice or comments, would be appreciated.

don't tell yourself you are terrified - otherwise you'll focus on your fear. Instead tell yourself you booked your test because you now have the experience and the confidence to pass. Remember, life is like motorcycling. You go where you look.

Re u-turns:
1. Keep your head up. Look through the turn. Never look down at the road nor directly in front of you
2. Use the clutch to regulate speed from a constant throttle. If you feel the bike "falling in" let a little more clutch out to increase your speed
3. Cover your rear brake. Applying a little pressure on the rear brake whilst using throttle and clutch can help settle the bike and stop unwanted jerking until your throttle and clutch movements are smooth and gradual. this is also useful over bumpy surfaces
4. Get some practice in before tuesday. You'll be surprised how quickly you pick it up. Just do it when you are fresh

Thanks Dave, I can ride I know I can... I'm just not to good in test situations the handling was a easy in the end even having not ridden much before I am sure I will be fine..

Okay today is the day and I am physically shaking hope my nerves don't get the better of me...
It takes 45 mins to ride to the test so hopefully will have calmed down by then.
