I have an old lathe I want moved from Ohehunga to Mt Roskill, Its old and heavy, three of us can move it on rollers but need either a very low load trailer or a HAIB. Anyone one on here have either?

A hiab may be overkill

I've moved lathes and mills a couple of times for a friend.

We hired a heavy duty car engine crane and a large trailer

Our biggest problem was lack of headroom in James' garage when unloading

I have a 2T engine crane , which I have moved all my gear with if you want to borrow it. It struggled with the 24 thicknesser on full extension though.
Should still have the Sampson trolley around here somewhere. You may want to rent some load skates - I never got around to making any.

I used to use Tom Ryan. 90 bucks an hour for a four wheeler. Cheap use of expertise if you only use for a couple of hours if you ask me. Decent Hiab operators can put shit almost anywhere and are a true joy to watch.

Unike most fucken swinglifters but that's another story.

Oh yeah, and don't get me started on stradle drivers........240695

No. Thanks fuck. The driver was in the cab at the time and escaped injury. Bet his missus had a hell of a mess to clean out of his overalls though.

Shoulda taken the piccy with the someone in the drivers space, looks like a "large man" wouldn't have been so lucky.

You ever seen the state of your average Tappers driver? Not many small blokes in that fleet mate. He was pretty fuggin lucky.

Kukutai Transport are in Onehunga. Got hiabs, can't comment on the operators.

MGM Transport which is an offshoot of Titan Marine Eng had a bloody good operator, you pay for what you get.
