My friend has recently bought a scooter, 2005 Suzuki sj50qt, any way it was within about 2 weeks ago, he claimed to have had it serviced at Scootling but Scootling have no record of it. The bike has now carked it for the time being and following up on the report from Scootling can she go after the seller for a misleading and incorrect description of the scooter? or does she have to bear with it and fix the damn thing.

Thanks,

Matt

Fun times at the Disputes Tribunal ahead.

If someone claims to have had the bike serviced etc,it pays to always ask for a copy of the invoice etc..

Its buyer beware if its a private sale.You have to get proof of servicing etc.Did you get a receipt that said sold as is?

private sale...buyer beware?
yes and no..
even in a private sale you can not knowingly make false claims.......
However....biggest problem for you will be how to prove this......?
good luck.
Try contacting seller first and see what he/she says?
good luck!

However....biggest problem for you will be how to prove this......?Agreed, but given the value it'll be a DT matter, so not like a court in that respect. The adjudicator will hear both sides and make a judgement.

Will get her to see if she can get the old page off trade me, and not sure would have to ask her. I told her not to get a scooter....lol
