Waaaaaa ha ha haaaaaaa... (http://nz.news.yahoo.com/a/-/top-stories/9660386/govt-will-move-against-kronic-within-weeks-dunne/) the last time I looked at the "drugs" counter, Kronic was 1 of at least 7 alternatives... so we'll waste more money trying to restrict the stuff... Kids as young as 12 get access to alcohol, so I'm sure this proposed legislation will make a huge difference as to who gets a hold of "legal weed"... There must be an awful lot of $$$ being made for it not to be an outright ban??? With any luck they'll get their heads out of their arses and lump Cannabis under the same brolly... I'd MUCH rather smoke Cannabis than the alternatives I've tried (tested Kronic and FTP last week... and probably will again ... and in the interests of fairness, I'll try the others too... I think V2 next)
But of course, as with everything else in life, there are the down sides... "However, the Australian Medical Association has said Kronic can cause severe paranoia, anxiety and panic attacks, high heart rates, agitation and restlessness."
Let's see now, eeeny meeny miny hmmmmmmmm
"Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur when using Viagra:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); chest pain; fainting; fast or irregular heartbeat; memory loss; numbness of an arm or leg; one-sided weakness; painful or prolonged erection; ringing in the ears; seizure; severe or persistent dizziness; severe or persistent vision changes; sudden decrease or loss of hearing; sudden decrease or loss of vision in one or both eyes"
Waaaa ha ha haaaaaaaaa... yup, bright bright people up there in the hive leading us into a new era of boom.

so would taking viagra and kronic at the same time eliminate some of the side effects? or increase(enlarge the outcome?)

Ha.
I know heaps of cool things that cause the same reaction.
Started at age 12, getting caught reading porn.
Age 16, some birds knickers fell out of my schoolbag at school.
Age 20 something. Bored at work and caught rubbing one out.
Three day benders, then fronting up to the missus, who refuses to beleive the hickies were done by some mates having a laff.
Pulling up to the Puhoi, and slipping in the gravel resulting in a no speed drop.
All au-natural, no additives required.

I think the issue everyone has with it, is the availability at dairy's etc next to the milk.
I say only sell it an booze/sex shops. Reduces access to young people.
Or maybe the dairy owners need to enforce the R18 restriction.

All well and good - but where do you appoint the blame? There always has to be someone or something to accuse, enjoyment by your own efforts is a dead end street...it just leads to happiness.

Not a bad suggestion.
Agree about the dairy owners bit, but we know how much those wobbley-tops love their cash!

I don't get why the media keep pushing that story about the dude who had to go to a mental clinic for like a day. I'm pretty sure the original article said he had been using other drugs as well but that fact keeps getting buried further in each new reference to it.
Kronic is horrible shit and can give you some weird paranoia but that's about it.
There's always some guy doing it wrong.

Well I say Ban it, and all the other man made legal highs that have had no long term testing and nasty side affects.
Decriminalize cannabis, a drug that has minimal side affects compared to tobacco and alcohol and has not directly killed a single person on the planet due to it's use.
Why is it that I can smoke a joint of Kronic outside a police station (stuff that can hospitalize me) but I cant smoke a real joint in the privacy of my own home to simply relax and escape the stress of work and dumb people :ar15:

I don't think it can hospitalise you really, the effects are similar to having a j - probably less potent even.

Made me tremble and I got a headache after. The headache after is common, along with trembling.
I dont think its good for me, its full of untested chemicals.
Crazy, why is the law unkind to the relatively harmless, non toxic real thing?

So your comfortable taking a man made substance that has had no long term affect testing, over a naturally occurring drug that has been in use for thousands of years (even Jesus used it), and the only real side affect people can point out is loss of short term memory :weird:
I tried the Kronic and found it was nothing like cannabis. It had a noticeable chemical feel to it that felt damaging. I just don't understand how people think that if man made it, it must be safe. If the government said they had developed man made synthetic apples, would you eat them over the naturally occurring ones?

Mad-V2
18th June 2011, 15:59
I'd say the long term affects will show in a couple of years, the same as they did with the herbals. Then when people use cannabis to replace the Kronic when it's banned, they will find out they need more of a chemical high than weed can give you, subsequently moving on to harder drugs.
But thats just my opinion

These legal highs contain cannabinoids, a class of chemical compound which are structurally relatated to THC. Chocolate and numerous medicines/pills (panadol) contain cannabinoids.
This is why chocolate is soo good. As it triggers the same receptors in similar ways to cannabis.

Do you see people using nightshade daily? there are alot of natural chemicals that you shouldn't take as they are poisonous.
of course there are dangers in taking any drug, but in my opinion cannabis is safer even than panadol to use on a daily basis. I am living proof of that fact.
As for Jesus, here is something I pulled from Google in seconds CLICK ME (http://www.cannabisculture.com/backissues/cc11/christ.html) Remember Jesus was actually a real person, he was just a little strange in the head for those times. Hell if it's bad for you it's bad for you, so many things are. The funny thing is. With grass we currently have local growers... the govt needs to contract these people in for an emerging Taxable NZ market . In my more liberal hours, I tend to agree. With the proviso, however, that when those folks who, knowingly exercising their free will and personal responsibility, get themselves fucked-up on substances, they should not then come whining and moaning to the various Governmental health and support services when it all turns to tears. Our tax dollars at work, re-habbing (or not) the suckers...

True!
Unfortunately if you had witnessed growing up with my generation, you would see that the booze attitude/problem was well under way then!
This generation's booze problem is the result of all the prohibition stuff that went on between and after the two world wars.
I don't think it's possible for those who were not there to realise what prohibition and then six o'clock closing was really like!
Prohibit something and even sane men will clamour to get it, just because they can defeat the prohibition!
I had an old uncle who didn't really want to drink but he would ride his old bike for ten miles in all weather just to go to the pub and "choose" to have a drink!
At the end of prohibition he never touched another drop until he died.
Stupid laws make criminals out of normally lawful citizens, once their virginity is broken it's only the degree of crime that changes!

They're all couch dwellers... they can't be arsed getting up to get beer from the fridge, let alone get their shit together long enough to head on out to commit some crime... and it ain't like drug crime will ever just go away... unless you allow people to choose for themselves of course. You never know, you may see a 25% reduction in alcohol related crime at the same time... guess we'll never know for sure.

Yes that's one part of it but then crack down on "actual" law breakers for the laws "they" break without passing blanket laws that punish those that "abide by the law"!
And sort out the laws that don't support the police and allow smart arse lawyers and piss weak judges to make a mockery of the police by letting criminals free to continue to wreak mayhem in the community!
And stop wasting time and money on treatment for idiots that continue to inflict damage to themselves through substance abuse, including alcohol, it's their choice!
Maybe then police would be able to concentrate on real police-able law and win back the respect of the public at large!
And don't try to tell me that what is happening today is working so if you want things to change, do something different!

yeah, but you gotta admit it's been successful - hell, since they introduced the Misuse of Drugs Act in the 70s cannabis use has um, er, well. OK, then there was the prohibition era - banning alcohol meant that crime was ah, hmmm, err...

That's the main reason for many of the laws that Our Beloved Leaders impose on us - to demonstrate that they are Doing Something. It's also an important part of our social construction to create "others", and if you're ever bored i suggest reading Edward Said's book Orientalism. If we can identify people who are doing stuff we don't do, and declare that they are wrong for doing that, it makes us feel right.
Disgusted of Herne Bay needs people like boy racers and drug users to be placed outside of the law/social acceptability because they believe life is a binary and there cannot be right without wrong, and if they (who are different and are therefore other) are wrong, then Disgusted is right.
