Have been doing renovation work on a classic Kiwi bach at Oakura, Northland and here is a couple of photos that made me smile and one which is kinda sad. The piles are a full 3 inches into the sand and are obviously made with firewood.

Those mexican short hair'd cats are worth quite a bit though Al...

Years ago, a builder doing a reno at the Poly pools in Rotorua...
They ripped out all the wood slats around the private spa pool and he reckond you could retread the entire Auckland bus fleet with the rubber they found underneath...

Was sad pic L :(

I've been TA'ing & had to rip-up an area for formwork in an old (over 100yo) beach house ... stuck my hand into a rats nest. Serves me right for not wearing gloves.

Found 8 inchs of a spin (amonst other bones)... so friggen gross

Also make a damn good treat for the family when you season and throw onto a hot barbie! All you need to do is flame grill once on each side for around 2 minutes and then rest. Voilla. Crispy skin a la Cat. served with your choice of side.

I prefer to use a nice Paris mash to even out the dish, your end result is:

Crispy skin Cat, Served on top of a creamy Paris mash and a glass of Barossa valleys fine dark toned Shiraz.

Cooked it for the Queen once, though i relabeled it as Crispy skin Quail.....She enjoyed it, then asked me for the recipe :sweatdrop:shutup::innocent::facepalm:
