For once the whiney fags had nothing to do with this.

The tags were being trialled. The trial went on a hell of a lot longer than it was meant to due to Spank not really giving a rats arse. However, eventually he got around to checking it out and tags still weren't being used the way they were meant to be (if you want clarification on that you'll have to ask him) so they were removed.
