I have just bought some parts for my 1991 RMX and got a 1997 frame and swingarm in the deal. Would parts be interchangeable? Like, would my 1991 engine and all other bits fit the 1997? At first glance, while the 1991 is tubular and the 1997 box-section, it looks like everything will fit. Anyone know?

No idea of course, but you can bet your boots that in the change the bodywork, airbox, rear mudguard & several mounting points are undoubtedly varied from the older model. The only thing working for you is that Suzuki are notoriously stingey when it comes to changing bits (a good thing) so there will be as many parts in common as they could make the same & get away with a new model in the customer's eyes.

Well, I shall fiddle today. If the engine fits and the radiator and tank mount OK then I'll go for it.

Nope, some bits fit, some don't. It's a no go. Will be selling the spare RMX frame on TM later.

Not surprised, just having a airbox not fit is terminal on a dirtbike. Won't be any advantage.

Just got my RMX frame back from the blasters / powedercoaters. Looks good. Time to rebuild!
