how much play sould there be on the throttle if any?? only had this bike for a couple of months but theres a rather annoying amount of slack. seems to be a 5-6mm dead spot when i blip the motor changing down through the gears. tried but failed adjusting the throttle so its responsive from the end of its return. trouble is that every time i touch something mechanical (no matter how simple it seems) i cock it up. im sure metal things were put on this planet just to torment me!(love working with wood though) any thoughts on what i should tweak.cheers

I'm no expert, but I don't think there should be any. Certainly not that much, I'm sure. 9 year old bike, probably stretched.

easy peasy--theres an adjuster on the cable end that attaches to the carbs.
Just dont over tighten it so ya have no slack in the cable. ya need to have a small amount of slak but sod all

VERY IMPORTANT! When you do adjust the slack out of the cable..run the bike at idle, and turn the bars side to side, and make sure the revs don't change!
Quite often turning the bars one way can pull slightly on the cable, and going through a corner would not be a good time to find out that its slightly too tight! :)

THE THROTTLE CABLE NEEDS A SMALL AMOUNT OF FREE PLAY OR IT TIGHTENS TO MUCH WHEN YOU TURNS THE BARS WHICH CAN EITHER STICK THE THROTTLE ON A LITTLE OR SNAP THE CABLE
