OK all you philistines out there - have a look at what these two manage to do. Even those who think any form of dance is for fairies should take a look...impressive stuff in any discipline.

Actually, I thought it had very little emotion.
Viewed more as a circus act. They have amazing balance etc, but I wouldn't rate it as a classic ballet moment.

could have something to do with the fact that it was a 4 minute clip out of probably a 2 hour performance. It is possible that within the context of the whole show that there was emotion in that part of the performance, but without the build up and context of the proceeding performance or the continuation of the rest of it you (the viewer) are unable to more closely relate to the performance being given. You (the viewer) are not emotionally invested in the two performers or indeed the show as a whole.

I don't recall anyone in this thread referring to it as a 'classic ballet moment', rather I think you'll find they were impressed by the strength and balance displayed, just like you were. Ah, what was the point of your post again?

I would tend to agree with you tri boy. I posted it solely for the technical prowess on display, not for any inherent balletic merit - although, having said that, ballet, like other forms of dance, does move with the times so who is to say what is de rigueur today? Some of the modern stuff is pretty gymnastic to watch.
Still impressed with the power and balance though...

Is it wrong of me to be disappointed she wasn't wearing a nice little thong instead of what looked like a pair of Seb's old y-fronts?
