Direction indicator lamp requirements?

So after much thought I decided to remove the side and front fairings from my cbr250. The main reason was due to the damage across the right side from a recent slide I had. I thought about replacement but I've decided that for as long as I continue to own this bike I'll leave them off to prevent repeat damage in the event of another incident.

Which brings me to my main question.

What are the requirements on directional indicator lamps? Is there a minimum distance required between the left and right side? Is there a minimum distance from other sources of light? Etc.

At the moment I've got them attatched slightly out and above the head lamps but I'm not sure if it will pass a WOF this way.

Any information would be helpful.

So anyway, I took my bike for a WOF and it passed anyway. The guy didn't even look twice at my indicators. Checked they worked and nothing further.

I was more surprised though on what he "tried" to fail me on. My factory standard tail section wasn't up to WOF standards. The rear reflector (on a 45 degree slope) isn't facing backward and is apparently only useful to aeroplanes. Wanted me to pay 8 bucks to stick another one on there... so after much frustration I bought it, stuck it on, got my WOF, rode around the corner and ripped it back off again. What a prick.

Make sure you keep it for 6 months time... that said... I've seen bikes with their taillights blown, and the reflector is better than nothing (but not by much).

Some things the inspectors don't even check the actual laws, and other things they are really anal.... just the way it works really... I even had a brand new bike, didn't come with a rear reflector :blink:
