First off, can I just say: :D !!!!!!!

If my grin over the weekend had been any bigger the top of my head would have fallen off!

I picked up a yellow 2003 CBR600RR with less than 4000k on the clock on Friday night.... pix attached!

Mt Eden m/c deserve some more praise for this one, they did me a good trade in, fantastic deal on gear, gave me freebies, sorted the RR out with rego, WOF and all that in one afternoon, and were very good to deal with all round. Thanks also to Fart, cunningstunt1, v.ros`, and Firefight for advice and opinons over the last few weeks....KB rules!

Imagine how happy I was when I woke up on saturday feeling like a kid on xmas morning, to find that it was a still and sunny day...and there was a new bike int he garage! Man, my arms are still a bit achey from riding around all day....I didn't actually GO anywhere, just around.....:ride:

As for the bike, well - I  it....of course it IS the youngest bike I've ever owned, and by far the quickest! Oh and it has a name too - "Spongebike".

Hehehe nice wording there mate. Yeah well I SPOSE....i mean you were kind enough to let me have a look at the XV while we were down in your neck of the woods...just cos i had been at the pub for the last 6 hours didn't mean I couldn't have ridden it though!

Haha, bet your arse to John it would have. I don't even sit on it when I've been drinkin mate. (not strictly true but I never have my keys with me when I do)

I seriously need to get shite sorted here so I can set up a ride that's been playing in my head for the better part of 4 months...

Anyway as I said noce bike though the hood ornament still worries me. Leave that stuff for the cagers mate. The name is a bit of a bother but then you'll probably change it soon enough when the bike achieves it'sown personality.

Posted here rather than PM in case anyone else wants to know.....oh and I have a full workshop/service manual on CD if any other RR owners want it! A paper owner's manual with those small but important details (like clock setting!) is on it's way to me too....

CLOCK SETTING:
With the ignition ON, watch the self check and think to yourself, "that was cool!". then:
hold down the adj and reset buttons at the same time
The clock wil start blinking, use the adj button to adjust the hour.
Press the reset button to change to setting the minutes, and use adj set.
Press both buttons to exit

Oh believe me, my nana would ride faster than I have been over the weekend. Crashing within days of getting a new bike would reduce me to tears! Having said that I have given it a blast or 2....JEEEEEEZUS it gets the front up no problems, and on the motorway it so smooth and torquey that I kept having to look at the speedo cos I don;t have the engine note that equates to a certain cruising speed programmed into my brain yet :weird:

Nice bike - I suppose you liken it to Spongebob because the shape of the seat means you need Squarepants to ride it?

My Goose doesn't really have a name yet, and because it's black whereas most geese are white, a name isn't coming readily to mind.

Enjoy yourself, sounds like you have a good attitude to riding so have heaps of fun and remember - shiny side up, sticky side down!

Ouch to the duck story, Allun! My husband hit a hare once and it broke his gear lever off. Thankfully I've not hit anything major on the bike, but I did run over a mouse once - stop laughing! There was this slight feeling like running over a small stone and it was severely flattened.

Seagulls are the worst things to hit because of all the crap they eat - and the ones near the sea smell even worse.

Pays to stay upright and keep the furry creatures for home!

Still doesn't help me with a name for the Goose though - Ducky isn't quite what I was after!

I can't help it...guys i may have a problem here...."Hi, my name is Allun, it's been less than a month that I've owned my latest bike and I am already modifying it....."

Last weekend I installed an alarm, ostensibly to lower my insurance premiums but really it was for the bling of flashing indicators and remote starting..... and today i dropped it off at custom chambers for exhaust work.... H E L P! :o
