Help a newbie out perleassse!!

I got offered some race attack comp soft for silly money and naturally had to say yes!!! They have done a few laps round manfield and show a few signs of tear but nothing partuicularly mental!!

I had them fitted to my k7 1000 and they seem awesome!! ( I know, a race tyre for road use seems like a dumb thing to do but hey, its fun right??)

May i ask for help with two questions please??

Pressures for the street??
Pressures for the track??

All help gratefully received

Yep. right up till you realise they have less grip than normal tyres......unless you somehow kept their temps up on the road.

Afriad I dont know the pressures you asked for.....just wanted to say....take care out there.

I got the mediums in cooler weather on the 600.
track 30/28
street 32/34 abouts

Got to get some heat in them though. Little bit squirmy vs the michies when I crossed over. Steeper angle on the tyre, quick tip, stiffer carcass, lower pressure, not so good in the heavy rain haha

I run Sport Attacks on both my Z1000 and R1. I am genuinely converted to Conti's now (for road riding)!
I'm using 190/55's on both bikes, well worth the extra $30- ish

Cheers everyone!

Yep, they certainly need a little warming up on the road but once they are up to temp..what a blast!!

Really pleased with them! I had michie pilot power 2ct before and the bike turns quicker and is far more stable under full power on its side, so a good result!

I Dont think they will last that long!! (probably won't mention that to the wife tho!!) Has anyone got any experience with these on a road bike to offer any kind of advice as to life expectancy??

Once again a big thank you to all!!

Ssssshhh .. don't tell the wife ...

I had Pilot Roads on my 650 - got 5,000ks out of a rear one ... Pirrellis another 5,000ks ... when I put on the Road Attacks I shredded the rear in 3,000ks ...

But fuck it was a fun 3,000ks.

Milage depends how hard you ride it - hard fun shreds tyres - soft and gentle and you'll get better milage - and BORED.

hahahahahaha,

I thought that would be the case!! you are right tho, big smiles mean big bills! My pilot power 2ct's were pretty good but these are in a different league!!

I will be grateful to see 3000k's and will tell the wife it's the new surface on the Rumitaka hill that is sooooooooo abrasive if they happen to disappear before then lol

I don't know about the race attacks but I have Conti road attack 2 tyres on my bike and love them to bits. I have about 4000km on them and they have a lot of life left in them.

On an R6 ???? Jeez ... I'm surprised they've lasted that long - let alone still have tread

Hey

I run race attacks all summer long, then change to Pliot 2ct for winter (safer) but in summer I do about three trackdays plus about 4000-5000 km:eek: on a set of soft front and rear. Thats on my SV1000 twin!!:wings::wings: And thats with a shit load of fun going hard on track and road!:apumpin:

Pressure as above from rest of group, heat is very important on road thou. :psst:

+1!

Aren't they fun on the road!

I don't even care how long they last. Or not.

And for the 'be careful brigade', thanks for your concern. If I put myself on my ear then its my fucking stupid fault and you'll be able to tut tut as you ever so carefully potter along.

PS - Oh yes, I'm ever so gentle on cold damp roads.
