Looking for hazards is one of the most important skills they look for. Using your mirrors, turning your head, all that kind of stuff.

All the rest is just basic riding skills that should be second nature.

All the best to you and hope you pass. :sunny:

Yup,
I wasnt asked about Hazards but keep your eyes peeled just encase, make your head movements obvious, if your approaching a side street make it obvious and turn your head to look at it, the idea been to make eye contact with the driver or 'driver' at the intersection etc, they got me to do a U Turn as well, otherwise the rest is easy

Keep to the speed limit, indicate on and off round-abouts. Yep, all been said really, make it extra obvious that you are aware of each and every hazard and make it obvious that you are going to let everyone else on the road know what you are about to do.
And remember to turn your indicators off once around the corner - left mine on too long on one corner which was pointed out to me but wasn't enough for a fail. Nor was stalling! There seems to be a fair amount of lenancy but then again maybe I was just lucky

All the best

Make it really obvious that you are checking your mirrors and do it often!

In my test the guy was real cool and told me to just ride and he would tell me to speed up or slow down (i ended up doing over 50km most of the time). You may want to ask your assesser to calibrate your speedo to their speedo before the test starts to make sure your not going to go too quick.

Also if you use a radio (for instructions) in your test make sure the ear piece is comfortable in your ear (with your helmet on too) and walk 5-10m away from your tester dude so you can make sure you can hear clearly through the ear piece

Just relax, ride smooth, pretend your just going for a ride down the road. Also pratice your u turns since we don't do them that often...its a piece of piss really  Good luck!

If you get asked to identify potential hazards, the instructor following in their car counts as one :D

Leave the shotgun at home. Make sure you drop the baby off at daycare before the test and stash the baby seat bolted to the pillion pad somewhere.

Stop at stop signs for at least 3 seconds and put at least 1 if not both feet on ground at stop sign. exagerate checking your mirrors so tester can see you checking mirrors

Try not to lose the tester. I did lol (Didn't fail though :D). But this was before they had the intercoms/radio things so it's a bit easier now lol.

Good luck, you'll be fine :)

Edit: See you have a FXR150, that was my learners bike, wicked little thing.

I asked my tester about that before I sat my restricted. He said do whatever you are comfortable with ,as long as you are stopped. I always had the rear brake on while stopped. Has become a habit now. <_<

This is the sensible thing to do. Ask the inspector what he expects to see at a stop sign. There is another thread somewhere covering this and it appears that there is no fixed standard as what they are looking for to confirm that the bike has STOPPED. so if he says he wants to see you stopped for 3 seconds do that, if it's looking both ways 15 times then that's what you do.

Thanks for the advice everybody!

Make sure you check down side roads and roads you drive past every time
