Safe rider quiz for Street Talk course

Hello everyone.
I'm doing the 'Street Talk' course to chop my restricted license time down to 3 months, and we have some assignments to do between sessions. In this case we have to interview both less, and more experienced drivers on what they consider to be a safe driver.
Now, I have 20 years worth of accident-free driving under my belt, and while the course is generally aimed at young cage drivers, I've decided to put my ego aside for a while and submit to the process. The general thrust of this first session was that attitude plays a far bigger role in safe driving than skills.
However, since I'm there for my motorcycle license I thought I might try to put this into a bike context, as I suspect that the attitude/skills mix is slightly different for a bike than a cage.

So: If you'd like to indulge me, could a couple of new riders, and a couple of experienced riders briefly answer the following questions?

1) What makes a safe rider?

2) Are you a safe rider? Why or why not?

- Im a new rider, Ill try and be honest:

1) Someone who is aware of and anticipates their surroundings

2) Guess not, I think I can anticipate hazards alright... but I go past them without any plan on how I would react if said hazard became a reality:corn:..

Yeah, I did a defensive driving course about 20 years ago too. Things have changed a bit. Bit more of a PC holistic approach now. I thought I was signing up for a motorbike specific course, but apparently not. Never-mind... like I said, I'm trying to put my ego aside for the moment, to see if I can learn. The other piece of homework I have to do is try to guess my speed and then look at the speedo and record my findings... (on four different occasions.) First one last night guessed 105 (indicated... not actual) km/h and was on 103, and this morning passing a Pre-school guessed 20 and it was exactly on. If this keeps up they're either going to think I'm a smart-ass (actually probably already do) or I'm cheating.

1) Safe Rider? One who is aware of their surroundings, uses experience and forsight to anticipate others actions, or possible road situations. One who does not rely on the actions of others to safeguard themselves. A rider who simply does not trust any other road user to behave/act correctly.
