That was a hum-dinger,...made the WCC building sway quite well.

Felt it in palmy, quite a long one too. If it was centered under taupo shouldn't the thread title be taupo's turn for the shakes? :innocent:

I'd imagine their shit would have a similar, if not less viscous, look and feel to a chocolate milkshake.

What earthquake? Are even natural disasters bypassing Palmy as well?

The entire world will feel it, most likely hear it.
They reckon the world could heat up by as much as 3-4c if it goes.

Can't say I noticed a thing here in the Tron...hardly surprising - even earthquakes get lethargic here...

It blows pretty regularly - every 1800 to 2,000 years .. it's only dormant ...and we are passed the 2,000 mark since the last major eruption ...

Yup .. won't be no Air New ZEaland flights if that goes up .. and it may even reverse global warming for us ... tho' that's a pretty drastic way to reverse it ...

Jeez, pretty amazing that a lot of of people felt nothing in the Nth Isl., yet we got a gentle rock here in Murchison.....according to a geeza on Nat Rad the reason why many in the Nth didnt feel it was due to the angle of the fault & that the force of the jolt was projected southwards away from Taupo & was felt quite strongly in the Waiarapa/Wgtn region....

An interesting geologist was saying that Taupo is well on the way (and overdue) for another burp.
When it erupted for the "big one", the dust cloud went as far north as Mt Wellington in Auckland.

I thought it would have been much larger than that?

Felt it in Motueka. Good shake, made me wonder if Christchurch had just had a huge one. Thankfully not.

I felt it in CHCH, it was gentle as but the building still got a creak on initially. I thought it was a 2-point-fuck-all to begin with but it certainly went on for quite a while which got me thinking it wasn't the normal daily stuff we've been getting.

Was sitting in the car outside Christchurch Hospital and felt it quite distinctly, wife was in a hospital bed on 2nd floor and felt it it quite strongly also!

When leaving the hospital about 5pm the police diverted us away from the Brewery because a tall chimney had been effected and was declared "unstable" so they closed the road!

Made a cunt of myself at the road block, went the wrong way around a police car and the man got a bit angry!

I just thought the cop car had had a prang, didn't look like a bloody road block!
