The 640 is in several pieces as I "service" it (loose interpretation of that verb) and I need a reason to pull finger and spend money on tyres and bits and stuff.
So......... what I need is a ride in the next 3 or 4 weeks or so to aim for, who's in for the west coast, just a day so the usual, aim for Kawhia and usually miss but have fun on the way.
Any suggestions, volunteers, dates and promises of attendance. :bleh:
Brent, you out there????
Well, I'm waiting!

C'mon you lot there's not a lot of incentive being provided....I need a ride planned!
Basic service is done and we are stripped to the basic running gear, both suspension units to be out and serviced tomorrow, service the carb and re-jet for the new pipe.
I need it back on wheels tomorrow night so I can get it to the exhaust guy to make up a short adaptor for the new muffler (bodging a SXC muffler on).
After that it's set up the lights properly, new tyres and back on the road.

I have a cunning plan a foot.
So cunning, that you could pin a tail on it,and call it a cunning thing.
It involves staying at an exclusive get away, and some imprompture beach racing on a private beach. Some gravel, a short farm crossing and beer.
Me n Kanny are moving into our new home next w/end:wings:, so it will be 2-3weeks after that.
Cunning enough for ya:shifty:

Hi Iain, you can ride my spare DR while the KTM is off the road, after a wee while that would be plently of incentive to get yours back on the road.
Missed you on the MMM, you would have loved the sleeping quarters at the camp ground in Matawai, 8 of us all snug in a f..kn shipping container.
I'm keen for a ride in couple of weeks when your back on the road. Woodhill next week.
Cheers
Al

Bike lifts went for $380, but they were a bit short in length, so I didn't bother.
The presses were too expensive, but I picked up some shelving and a ladder:drinknsin

Thanks (I think) ...the 950 not available then?
Woodhill is on my calendar, the 200 is ready and I'm frothing at the mouth as I missed the last ride.

You should Oscar, it's been a while, FNAR wasn't it?

oh, oh, oh...
There are always vacancies for dirty girls.......
(Hope Scummy isn't watching)
An update then:
Rear suspension sorted, motor back together but my money saving purchase of a not quite the best chain and sprockets has been an epic failure as they are knackered after 5000kms, bugger!
I got distracted by the temptation of alcohol and friendly company so the last 4 hours have been less than productive, Marlborough Pinot Gris is ok tho.
Carb and front end tomorrow night (more alcohol and Super bikes tonight).

We ran an A50 in a moped mayhem once (dressed up as a Marlboro Desert Racer), and ended up sawing off the rear tyre after a half an hour of running it flat. Man did it go around corners...

I would hazard that they'd work perfectly until the first camera came out...

Gee thanks Tony.......
The paint shaker is back in action, runs better with the new pipe and re-jetting and so far I seem to have put it all back together correctly (nothing left over or fell off). Shake down ride next week sometime, I'm off trail riding tomorrow!
Now, I do need an adventure ride organised. :scooter:
