Yea, Goin Whitford to Kawakawa somewhere out there sounds sweet as. My mate and I did that on Saturday, took us ages and we kept getting over taken by experienced riders*blushes* I aint the fastest rider in the world nor the slowest but by the sounds of it maybe in this hehhee
Anyway I'm in Panmure so maybe meet somewhere say the Tenpin place as it's on the main road?? or maybe you North shoreies could swing by and meet there then we all go. Fish 'n' chips, rock on!!!

I live out in howick and to do the whole howick to kawakawa and back (either the way we came or through the hanua's) is about 2-3 hours maybe a bit more if there are NOOB's and lots of stops :ride:

Ok if this ride is a go then I'll be along for part of it. Just need to see a map to see how much of a part.
bugjuice
7th July 2005, 09:58
well, shall we knock it on to Sunday then? Since more people can ride on Sunday, and the weather looks to be more predictable then, then it does Saturday?
----------------------------------------
k, well the meeting spot is attached. Botany town is just across the road from it.
The map of the route is the other one. The light green is the route to take. The arrows is kawakawakawakawakawakawakawakawakawa bay, for fush un chups. We can then either turn back, or carry on the route. The mid-green route is a slightly longer addition, the darker route is slightly longer still. Don't mind what we do.
This does mean, motorway riding, just a precaution. We'll stick in a group on the motorway anyway, so anyone who isn't sure about it, can stick in the middle of the pack..

7th July 2005, 10:10
Ok sweet that works so I can join on Sunday aswell. I'll just leave off at Kaiaua or Waitakaruru, depending on wich route y'all take, and then bugger off to Tauranga. $30 for gas should be enough sinceit will be 100k speed for the most of it.

Looks like i won't have the new shock before this weekend but will come out for a jaunt anyway....
How about both days hell it only takes 2-3 hours round trip ...max....including lunch....... and an hour nap on the beach :devil2:

I'm happy for it to be Sunday, if everyone else is. Bit dodgy to change a ride, and not know if everyone is happy with it.
And still meet at Cyclespot, but I'll meet on sunday. Can't be arsed meeting Saturday and waiting..

slowish I guess.. but whoever takes off ahead often waits anyway, so it doesn't matter. Just enjoy the cruise, that's what it's all about ;)
Kityhawk, could you change (edit) your first post, and change the title to 'Sunday Ride' instead of Saturday, if we're all in agreeance on this...?

well - actually - I'm not in agreeance.
If you want me to schnap a few it's Saturday - but I'm not stressing.
that return route would be better..

It's usually the Kaiaua Fish and Chips place...that's where we stopped on the ride Feint organised a month or so ago.

Ok, there seems to be more people riding Sunday, and the weather is better for Sunday, altho Dave can't make it Sunday.
See my first post, and that's what we'll stick to. Like it or lump it.

*doesn't mind getting up early on a Sunday to ride* lol and you know what... I don't really even know where we're going... but thats ok :)
And Bug Juice.... Don't quit on us... like Big Dave said... you can't please everyone, and your doing good as it is :)
Edit --- why don't you ask a Mod to lock this thread and start a new one... would make for a lot less confusion...

Hi Guys and Gals
I'm relatively new to the forum and being keen to meet up with some of you people. Been crook lately with the lurg but am keen for a blast on the Weekend. Now this thread started with Kittyhawk wanting to ride on Sat, but it appears that it will be Sun since forecast is for Sunshine. I'm wondering who's organising ride from Cyclespot on Sun and if the Saturday ride is still to proceed.
Help me out guys.
