Aside from the fact its a car not a bike(yea im soft). The lack of snow cover is unbelievable at this time of the year, was cold as buggery with a howling Southerly so didnt linger long.Whats up with this whole climate thing? Was looking forward to getting up there and seeing it way deep.My mate found a little patch of ice to pose on.:facepalm:Even up high in second pic theres bugger all.

i love a hike through it with the hound.

Reminds me of the time we went out for a winter stroll near a wee pond that freezes over about 5 minutes up the road from Twizel. Wasn't sure if the ice was thick enough to walk on so I chucked a stick out on the pond for the dog as a test. He got out to the stick OK then promptly fell through the ice. He was unable to get out and was less than happy. Of course I had to go out and get him by breaking through the ice and walking through icy water with the ice about an inch short of my nuts. Serves me right I guess.

Our old dogs loved the snow. Used to bounce around in it and have a ball.
