Go online to Kiwi bike insurance, you can get an online quote, they are competitive.

I'm 45.:shit: I shopped around quite a bit and eventually went with Protecta, pay around $280 per year. again I think that is due to age etc.

It will depend on quite a lot of things, your age, years you've held a license, insurance history etc.

It pays to look around as some places are a lot cheaper than others.

From memory, AA Insurance won't even insure you if you are on a learners or restricted license.

Classic Car insurance (an off shoot of Vero) are usually who I put all my clients through. That or Protecta if they are really dodgy.

Cheap premiums yet a huge excess.

I am with Classic Car Insurance, pay $314 a year $300 Excess. Great service.
Have to also see with compaines what they actually cover in terms of protective gear etc. Classic cover is great.

Kiwibike or NAC.
Both offer decent premiums and excess. (and my quote was for a under 20yo male rider on a learners)

Yep, it certainly does depend on age, history etc. I'm in my 40s and been riding for 25 years with no claims and pay $156. Funny though how the ACC levy is $476 per year.....

NAC for learners and restricted.

Kiwibike when you have your full.

Easy.

I've got a full licence and been riding for years with no drama and Kiwibike wanted $600 from me. I pay less than half that elsewhere.

Will pop another vote towards NAC
Quite competitive pricing and had no drama at all when I had to claim with them a few years ago (tree jumped out into the side of my car, true story)

Those guys at Hyosung NZ on Barrys point road are great guys and are very helpful, they may be able to point you in a direction also. Careful of the anit-Hyo bunch on here though, sometimes they bite if you get too close ;)

Kiwibike are a broker, not an insurance company. They deal with a few different companies to try and find the best insurance deal for you. I am with Protecta, through Kiwibike and pay $329 per year with an excess of $500, for a bike valued at $3000. This was, and still is, the best around for my circumstances.

Fair enough, but brokers aren't infallible. It does pay to do some research yourself.

What are you talking about??? :shit: I am an insurance broker, and I am infallible. Except when I don't know something. In that event, I am still right.

Hey mate I was in the same situation as you a month ago and my insurance was 30$ a month with a Honda Spada VT250. I'd imagine it'd be the same price for any other 250.

BY THE WAY DO NOT RIDE YOUR BIKE WITHOUT REG OR WOF OR IF YOU FUCK YOUR BIKE YOU WILL NOT GET A PAY OUT

I learnt from experience

another NAC user.
this is my very first time EVER insuring anything in my life and NAC seemed half decent, so here's my setup:
NAC
Market value = $3300- ? Suzuki Bandit 250, 1996, only just bought it for $3250- with 5k genuine k's on the odom
Full comp = $232.5 yr
Monthly Prem = $19.34
Excess = $600-
Theft Excess = $400-
free roadside, no cancel fee, pay monthly (no 10% extra fee)
add other riders for free to the bike insurance, also something about if i drive/ride another persons bike i am also covered for something. cant member now, prob if i was not a fault they would cover.
signed up over the phone, credit card details needed.

cheers 4 the help fellas

I have third party insurance with AMI for my $4000 150cc scooter, which I arranged when I was on my restricted license. It was approx $60 for the first year, and the second year was approx $35 thanks to the no claims bonus. 20 y.o female :)
