Are coils the same? Just different shapes?

You can often get away with swapping coils over, I have done so before. As long as they are designed for a specific voltage (12 or 6) you should be fine.
Do you need one? :innocent:

Looking like I need one. Was going to borrow a car one to confirm. Bike is 12v.

Best to check the resistance of the coil with a meter, some are lower than others some run with/without a ballast resistor.

I have, secondry coil is looking low. There is power to the coil but no spark.

I meant before you swap it for another type - manufacturers coils vary in resistance - safer to go a bit higher than a bit lower..

Im going to borrow a car coil to test it out. If thats the problem Ive found a new one. Cant afford to spend the money if its not the issue.

Is it single or twin plug? If it's twin plug I can send one to you.

New coil sorted it. Runs like a champ.
