Who knows what people do mate, hes lost a bit of ear and a few other scraps so maybe a dog,who knows. Will take him to the vets first thing in the morning and get the end of it removed, could do it myself but as the mrs says theres probaly infection etc so best to get him treated by them.

most cats would see a dog off, they dont like getting their nose ripped up.

I doubt if it needs removed ... splash a bit of Detol on it ... the fur will grow back. (unless the tail bone is broken, in which case the feeling in the end will have gone already)

Penny for a pound the vet will just splash on some anti-septic and snip off the hanging-off bit.

SHARP dressmaking (dont tell she who owns them first) shears will do the trick ... do it quickly and you MAY avoid getting clawed ... but I doubt that will be an issue ...

Looks like it may have had its tail run over man,
My vet happens to live up the road from me, and he has run his cat over twice now.. but once he ran over its tail, it looked very similar I would suggest going to the vet anyway, Just in case, may need some antibiotics etc

Presumably with your last run-in with a vet, you will be avoiding the place?

Oh yah, Gang banged by the sounds of it haha.
My folks used to have a scrapper it used to come home coughing up multi coloured fur, missing half of its coat, come home one day missing a foot, a few months later it came home with a possum.. Cats are fucking mad mate.

Oh yah forgot about that one :L

If the cats not running a fever and seems happy enough to rest at home, I would wait a few days. Probably just fall off very soon by the looks, and the cat will pull/mouth at it daily when he cleans
He might hate ya if you get out the ultra big scissors..... try wearing welding gauntlets and drugging his food
Edward Scissorhands would be perfect, but I would wait if hes happy and no infection

Accidently stand on the tip...then accidently yell out "WOOF WOOF"...
Bike boots and leather pants are not optional on this occasion.

Take him to the vet...the tail is a prime place for infection which can easily lead to gangrene. Lost a kitten once from an infection which set in from a burn on the tail.
A course of antibiotics would be a minimum IMO.
We had a big ginga who brought home rabbits - left the pluck neatly on the downstairs carpet, the bastard.
