Billy told me of Paul's passing on saturday; it's not often that i'm stuck for words but i was then.
Billy's huge attack on the smaller bike class for the last nationals was a massive amount of work for himself for the gain of many others who often had no understanding of the time, money, commitment that he had put him.
Only Billy can stand back and work out the value of the whole effort he put into it and whether it was worth it.
At this stage there seems to be another by product of the whole project. Paul was one of Billy's riders so they spent the summer together, sadly Paul's last summer but at least they got that in and Billy was proud of him too.
Keep strong Billy, keep strong.

Paul's passing was a real shock to us Billy. We really enjoyed his company and competitive spirit during the Nationals. It is hard to imagine the loss you and your family must be feeling. It is also very hard to know what to say that might offer some comfort to you. I can however, on behalf of Sarah and myself, just say that you can be proud of the man that Paul had a chance to be, thanks to you. He was well respected as a person and a motorcycle racer by us both. As we did during the last meeting, we will be placing the #2 on our racebikes this season in Paul's honour.
Don't hesitate to contact us if we can assist you in any way. We will attend the service on thursday. Take care Billy.
