Has anyone made their cruiser passenger seat more comfortable.
The other half would come riding more often and for longer if the seat was more comfortable.
An additional cover might help but she doesn't want to sit on an extra pad on top of the seat.
I have thought about getting more foam and a gel top put in the factory seat but thought I would see what other options are out there first.
PS: it's on a Boulevard C50T

Go to the likes of Lazer craft boats in K-Valley, they do alot of that stuff, the guy there who does the upholstery does alot of cash jobs for cheap.

Try Pat at Emslie and Flockton out South Dunedin he did a VT1100 seat for me recently reshaped and added some memory foam to both the riders and pillions area now much more comfortable than the stock seat

Another option is an Airhawk pneumatic pad. Have one on my Street Triple for long distances (1600 km in 24 hours) and it was incredible. I actually used a cruiser pillion pad as it was the best fit. Link here:http://www.therohostore.com/Departments/Comfort-Products/AIRHAWK-Motorcycle-Seat-Cushions.aspx.
You only need to put a tiny amount of air in them, not pumped up like a balloon.

Can't you just feed her up a bit and let nature provide a bit more cushioning ? :innocent: Works for me

it's all a ploy by the manufacturers to get you to spend more money, hopefully on their aftermarket comfy seat.
The internet is your friend, and at the moment, so is the US exchange rate.

Here is a story lol. Took most my seat padding out to make seat height better (worked well, also left pillian seat alone ) But now my right knee hurts and part my top right leg mucle swollen. my sheep kin rug only helps a little. I need some gell padding as its comfy and slim, anyone know where you get it from? (got a trip to Tauranga in morning  lol )

By the way, I just thought I'd throw this out there
Sometimes a sore bum, back, or legs is not caused by suspension or the seat.
I used to get a sore ass, back and thighs after two hours without a stop. I have had the seat mildly reshaped to have a higher rear arch, which I had done since I was having them recovered anyway. But the biggest difference I noticed in releving the pain was caused by putting foot pegs & controls in a different position.
As I am over 6 feet tall, a set of 10" forward 1" up forward controls helped horrendously. For pillions, it may be more a matter of getting extensions that lower the pegs.
Might be worth some consideration.
Edit -
Something like this might help?

I think you're right. I changed from a sports bike to a cruiser.
On the sports bike I got really bad cramp in my leg and would have to stop riding for 15 minutes every hour.
Now on the Boulevard I can ride for hours without a problem.
After the 'more spongy' pillion seat, I will get some passenger foot boards.
Foot boards are very expensive so I'll do the seat cushion first.

I know some say floorboards are more comfortable.
But I think drop extensions might get more comfort.
