Last year the Sidecars had to enter all three rounds of the Tri-Series if they wanted to compete. Early publicity for this years Tri-Series had the same details but this is not the case.
While there is still the stipulation that there must be twelve entries per round Teams can enter as many rounds as they choose.
Prizemoney will paid on overall series results for Sidecars and I believe all classes.
I visited and discussed the details with Flea Willacy, the Tri-Series promoter at the weekend.
Dont' forget too for NZSRA members all three rounds are part of the NZSRA points series.

Hows that? Also, since theres two on a chair and more expensive to have - maybe sidecars should pay more to enter race meetings??

Last year you had to enter all three rounds to be eligible for prize money. Which annoyed a few (fast) people who only wanted to do the Cemetery Circuit.
Suited me, though I got prize money in BEAR's :)

Yeah it wasn't one of those things you want to see, Michael (?) Webster Kawasaki with the BESTEST race numbers on the track (54) came down the front straight trailing huge smoke.
I was in the control 'tower' and they were doing their absolute best to warn him, he found out in the left hander in the esses that his sump gasket was blown and that the grass was wet and muddy and his ringtone changed from dry to wet and glistening...

I'll clarify a bit more for you

I consider racing at Wanganui the highlight of the year and look forward to it, we were told last year we had to enter and do all three rounds or we could do none of them

I asked if we could have dispensation as we have more travel cost to do Wanganui then most people will incur to do all three rounds because of the Ferry and was told we couldn't unless they got decent entry numbers and then the three round requirement would be dropped

With two weeks to go last year we were told we could enter, by that time we'd cancelled our accommodation and the Ferry prices were ramped up so we missed the event

Now we normally use the prize money to offset some of ferry cost and it makes it more affordable, this year with only doing Wanganui we won't get any so it makes the event a little less attractive to do and out of all the racing we do it's the one I like to do the most

BTW how much prize money did you take last weekend??? Two meetings in Two days at different tracks you must be hauling it in eh??

What you going on about Willis? we only ran at levels
Arriving at Levels we were pleasantly surprised to find it relatively warm compared to the previous day at Ruapuna where we’d endured bitterly cold wind on the practice day

your quote Kick, missed the bit where it said practice though, still, how much did ya haul in on the ole prize money scale?

This year at Tri Series you don't have to enter all 3 rounds to be eligible for points and prizemoney. However - Sidecars need to have AT LEAST 12 entries for each round for the class to go ahead. If you only do Wanganui, and have a really good day, you could get some $$$ still. (How far down we pay to is dependent on entry numbers). Prizemoney is paid out on TOTAL SERIES POINTS earned - not Cemetery Circuit results.
