View Full Version : Z750 is getting a new exhaust - what do I get?

It's an insurance job. I have the stock exhaust at present, and to be honest, I have no issues with it.

I commute on it in all weathers, only occasional rides up the line or weekend spins.

I don't want anything that is unreasonably loud, but more torque would always be welcome.

Suggestions please!

I'm a big Yoshimura fan.

Having said that good old Neptune in Welly are turning out some nice work and definitely worth a phone call or email.

For about $500 total, fuel exhausts in the UK can have a replacement on your doorstep in four days. It works well, I had one on my z750.

Really good build quality.

The Leo Vince SBK series mufflers are good value and sound nice, with and without the DB moderator (easily removed with a single Allan key).

TBRs are just magic for noise augmentation, but pricey.

A muffler on its own won't help your torque. It may improve your throttle response, if your bike is injected. Even adding a Power Commander won't make a significant difference to your torque. Horsepower? Different story.

Old school right there!
Two Bro's for this Z1000 rider but I use the shorter 2010 R1 c/f cans which work well...IMO

I thought so but couldn't resist calling Brett, the grammar Nazi out on it.

Decibel, or dB.

LOL
And it's an attenuator, not a moderator perhaps.

Like the Neptune with the twin outlets:yes: I have a Beowulf muffler on my Z750. Sounds really nice, not too loud with the removable baffle in place and only 1 allen bolt to make it noisey. Really good finish and fit as well:niceone:

Full Titanium/Carbon "Micron" race system on my 05 Z1000. Power Commander and bigger throttle boddies fitted. Very significant power increase on the Dyno. And huge grin factor as well

It was in boxes because it was getting put back together. Went on Dyno Wednesday morning with suprisingly pleasant results. :niceone:

They came off a ZX10 (with injectors as well). I have also got the ZX10 rear shock fitted . It raises the rear end slightly giving it a sharper steering

Neptune would be my bet.

Yep I've put the ZX10 shock in but also had it re valved/sprung along with the forks too.
My Zed is an '09 so wondering if it'll need a different set throttle bodies.

Mine has been revalved and resprung along with front forks. I can't remember if your Zed is the next generation then you are already running the ZX10 motor. The 03-06 was running ZX9 motor (953cc) Or was it the 2010 model that changed to ZX10 motor??? Not sure

The 'earlier' motors were based on the ZX9. Mine is the model after that which doesn't lean towards any of the Kawasaki motors dang it
It currently goes pretty well for what it is. I've gone +3 on the rear sprocket and added a Juice Box so it does get up and go well. After all I did buy it to slow down :scooter:
Oh well...I best do some research.

I would also look at ZX12 or ZX14 motors and see whether any of those parts fit yours. For memory they both are injected

I have gone from 127 stock hp to 149 at the wheel with theses modes and slight tweak of the computer. TBH that is enough for me. Bike might be fast but I am getting slower. HEHE

I almost forgot, head was gas flowed and inlets polished and ported.
