View Full Version : Workers?

I've noticed that a lot of the rides organised are made for Saturday mornings... which sucks for me because I work every Saturday morning... and it got me to wondering how many hours people worked...

I work an average of 54 hours a week, and have done so for the last 2 years... Kinda cuts out a lot of "social life" time...

So yeah... Sunday's are my "pleasure" ride days :)

placidfemme
6th July 2005, 13:46
damnit... I left out the hour range that I work.. *is an idiot sometimes*
So I clicked the 60+ one...

I usually finish work at about 2pm, sometimes earlier if I know the boss won't find out *shhhhhh* But usually 1-2pm, and usually once a month I work until 7pm on Saturdays

need another button - 'I should work 40hrs a week, but spend 35 on here'
I'd click that.. not busy at the mo.
can't you call in sick on the good days, like this ride on saturday coming up?

I work approximately 40 hours per week in my "real job " plus I am on call 24x7 one week in 4, then work 4 to 8 hours in my partners business at the weekend , Saturday or Sunday depending on the weather so finding time for a ride can be a bit difficult

lol I left out too many options... it's a pity you can't edit the polls and add in extra options.

Yeah I could call in sick... or just not show up (the boss doesn't work Saturdays) but then the next week my bank acc won't be so happy :(

*hasn't even looked to see where the ride is going this Saturday*

I ride when I can, wether it be during the week or weekend. Beeing six on & three off, I reckon it's good. We shift workers must piss off some when we're riding during the week. ( oh dear, how sad, never mind.)

I work "50 or less hours a week" and am salary paid. I really treasure my weekends and have always made the choice not to work on them unless absolutely necessary!

So I can ride Saturday or Sunday if I wish, but my preference is Saturday...still waiting for them to bring in the 3-day weekend! :ride:

I've worked 6 days a week, over 50 hours per week since I left school. Now, thanks to being in the right place at the right time, I work when I want and not when I don't want.

Apparently, it's all about working smarter, not harder. We'll see how it goes as I'm a notoriously lazy bastard and probably will never go to work. :devil2:

I work full time (40-50hours) and study part time.

Where's that option then?

Keystone19
7th July 2005, 19:17
How about the 'I have two kids and work 168 hours a week' option...

Oh yeah, that's on top of the 20 hours a week paid work and the 10 hours a week study...

Hmmm, that would make 198 hours week. Thinnk I might have run out of hours somewhere...

Will still ride Saturday though!

Yeah and don't be forgetting you will have to have the fire going, dinner ready, bed made with electric blankie on, dishwasher loaded, towels on the towel rack etc by the time I get home (may need to buy some slippers so you can have them ready too).....before you go do the 22 or coro loop each day!!!!

I reckon it's a plus. I don't get too many night shifts, fortunately, but there are always people queuing up to take them off me. Work 10 out of 21 days days - gotta love it.
