I have a small camera bag that I put my phone and wallet in then stick em under the seat. It's a pain whenever I need to stop and get something, but don't really like riding with anything in my pockets. That and my leathers dont have any pockets so that kinda helps make my decision.

now that I've got leathers with no pockets.....either in my Camelback or in a bum bag strapped to the bike.

Note for those that have not yet discovered this- don't put your wallet in a magnetic tank bag.... it can wipe the magnetic strips on your eftpos/ credit cards....makes it difficult to pay for anything....

Just have jeans for the moment so stuff goes in my pockets or in the inner pocket of my jacket.

In my tankbag if I'm using that - or in a pocket in my leather jacket

My wallet's usually in my pocket (unless I've left it at home on the bench, next to the toaster...)

Cellphone lives in my right shoe, watch in the left one.

Shoes live in my bag.

Bag lives on the packrack.

In my pocket, or in the glovebox

I like to put my wallet in an open outer pocket so I can share it and its contents with anyone following me on the wellington motorway. :oi-grr:

Actually it normally goes in the "boot" now and cellphone goes in pants pocket.

Cellphone in inner pocket since I drowned one.
Wallet in non-waterproof outer pocket that has proved to actually be waterproof.
Shoes, lunch, bike cover, kitchen sink, thermite grenade, SIG-Sauer in top box.
Ear plugs in ears.
Neck warmer on neck.
More bloody preparation than the James Cook did for his South Pacific holiday.

Phone in outer pocket,handbag..in pack,an licence in outer pocket for when mr Law wants to view my credentials..saves fumbling in pack on rainy days.

You'd be better off with a HE grenade and a Walther P99.

Backpack? Don't get me started. Suffice it to say that I put the wearing of backpacks into the same category as the non-wearing of gloves or other protective equipment.

Tankbag for both wallet and cellphone. I don't trust the waterproofness of any gear sufficiently to protect either (the GoreTex layer is often underneath pockets), and I wouldn't like to land on either object in the (hopefully) unlikely event of an off.

Just a safety warning (which I'm embarassed to say that I often ignore). One of the Tokoroa bikers had a car turn across his bows in town a couple of years back, resulting in his F650 collecting the front wing of the car and him sailing through the air. He had a garage door opener in a breast pocket and it moved sufficiently in his short flight to drive edge on between his ribs and cause internal bleeding.

I guess we think it will never happen to us, but any hard object in our pockets can cause injury if we come off.

wallet normally in back pocket of jeans.
But at the mo in the pocket of the jacket.
Or in the backpack if I take that.

cellphone normally in cell phone leather holder attached to belt on jeans.
But at the mo... in a little zip up part of the jacket.
or I can fit it into the pocket of the bike pants I just got (thanks lou).

Tch, tch You always go over the top and get ridiculous :nono: . A sawn-off 12 guage is perfectly adequate for any situation you may encounter, and has a reasonable chance of hitting the target from a moving motorcycle, unlike your silly P99. and you can fire it with gloves on, AND it will fit in the panniers. Lets keep it practical, eh . I guess though we should bow to Mr Waylander's opinion since being a Texan he will presumably have experience in such matters ?

Wearing a flip front helmet lets you pull the pin with your teeth. (Memo to self, throw grenade - keep pin)

Glock 17 actually (http://www.glock.com/g17.htm). Decent power and able to shoot straight at high speeds. Also fits well tucked into your belt at your back. Makes for easy draw though if you're right handed it's hard to shoot anything to your left and vice versa.

But presumably you must always fire left handed , since the right is needed for the throttle ?

That's what cruise control is for. My left hand shots are crap, not enough wrist strength:whistle:
Edit: Just a thought, get the 17C that way there is less kickback.

But very few bikes have cruise control outside the USA. I had not realised that this was one of its selling features.

Could we please get this thread renamed "Where do you keep your arsenal when riding "

Few bike in the States come with it either. It's a modified feature.

It depends - if I am taking a backpack and will be walking around when I get there, I put both in my backpack (with the BMW I usually use the backpack as the bike looks odd without it!), but if I am just popping out for a ride and coming home again, I usually have my wallet in one outside pocket and my phone in the other.

If pillioning and the rider isn't taking the panniers, I just put them in my pockets. I put the phone in a plastic bag if it looks like rain too.

Why??You wann'a mug me?

6th July 2005, 17:21
Waylander, you can keep that 17, I'll stick with a 21.

But seriously, the phone travels on the person (in a plastic bag if it's raining).
The thought occurs that if I was lying in a paddock with my foot pointing the wrong way and the bike some distance away, the phone wouldn't be much use in the tank bag.

I am enough of a realist, however, to know that should this situation arise Murphy would ensure it was in an area with no coverage.

Never in your top pocket around the rib area. Ask a mate of mine. Two broken ribs after an off.
Cards in Bum Bag around me Phone in Tank bag.

Yes, the P99 has a large trigger guard to accomodate gloves.

Yeah, I know I've already answered this...
My pocketses has all sorts of things in them
I have gargre door opener, bike-lock keys, allen key (for quick removal of zorst restrictor), coins, pen, sometimes digicam, sometimes cellphone, earplugs, lip balm, wallet, any nuts'n'bolts I find, sometimes the zorst restrictor...
Gotta make it interesting if I fall off, although disappointingly, I've had no interestingly-shaped bruises after any 'offs' carrying all this crap around...

I've got five pockets to fill (not counting the one for an extra back protector). Maybe some fruit, or other groceries....

Wallet in back pocket of trousers, I have a leatherman Wave in a pouch on my belt, zippo in another belt pouch, house keys, pocket knife and small change in trousers side pockets, Ipaq and cigarettes in pocket of sleeveless vest, note book and pen in other vest pocket - no room for cellphone (don't have one anyway), P99 (Ixion, can you say "high capacity magazine vs two barrels"? and Waylander, while the Glock is a fine weapon I find the P99 fits my hand better) and grenade (thermite, HE or frag, doesn't matter - no effing room!)

I try not to put anything in the jacket pockets (don't think they're waterproof enough) unless I know I'll have to stop for gas - then I'll put money or EFTPOS card in hip pocket of jacket. Rarely would I carry my wallet there (likely to get torn free and lost in a spill)

Enough hard objects stored around midriff to cause extreme discomfort in a spill but usually nothing high enough to hit ribs.

Anyone remember all the warnings about cell phones giving you cancer when you hold it up to your ear? Think about what its doing to your heart if you are keeping it in your jackets cellphone holder . . . worse yet, think about what its doing when you have it in your jeans pocket . . . I bet your phone spends more time in your pocket than against your ear too!

Makes it kinda like a DIY vasectomy kit . . .

under the seat. If someone needs to call me, I check the phone when stopped. I'm not that important that I need to be contacted at anytime.

Usually ditch the wallet and just carry bankcard and DL in jacket if on a mission, if not I usaully have a backpack or such anyhow.

What's even worse is that you notice when it's ringing! If it's somewhere (like your bag) and it rings, at least you're ignorant of the fact till you get to you destination and stop. When you're riding along, with gloves and helmet on, and it rings, :ride: becomes  then  then :spudwhat: then :blank: then:doh: but almost never :mobile:.
