Didn't know he had been knighted.

I thought Mr Issigonis would be very excited seeing what has evolved from his visions.

MORRIS ?

The first Mini off the production line was an Austin Mini Seven. The BMC A block is an Austin engine,Morris got to use them when they became part of BMC - the first Morris Minor used the old Morris 8 sidevalve, the A30 had the A block in 1949. And check out this early prototype....

Urghhh. Some of the modern cars that some manufacturers are churning out these days are bloody revolting. Look like someone forgot to sand down the edges or something. They are that pointy. What happened to the classic car look that has been all but forgotten...?

And looks bloated.

We had family friends who had the whole suite when I was a kid. Father and son were complete Leyland geeks. At one stage they had the full fleet. Cooper S, 1100, Crab and a P76-6.
The 1100 and the 1800 were like bench seats that moved slowly.

My pal Glen had a Bug-eye Sprite that wasn't bad - when it actually ran.

Co-pilot had an MG that actually ran for three consecutive days once.

.

Sorry to be pedantic, but the P76 is the only British Leyland car there, all the rest are BMC. It's like saying the Norton Commando and Trident T160 are a Norton Villiers Triumph product, but they were designed and made well before the monstrosity of all remaining brands under one banner.

There's no fun,. no variety.
It's bland-city Arizona these days...

It's like "Lets build the best mechanically reliable vehicle that has no soul and is as bland as all the others" these days.

And if your life is like that...
