Jebus....cheaper than what they initially indicated.
I can certainly vouch for how much fun the motors are :woohoo:

Was driving passed Motorad today and spotted the new boy on the block, a yellow Tuono V4. Had to pop in for a gander.
Quite an impression bit of kit up close. The build quality looks top notch and for $26k you get the full TC electronics & quickshifter. Reasonably comfy to sit on too.

Yeah I heard Motorad were getting 3 and they were all pre-sold. Can't wait to see it in the flesh.

The second batch has arrived and they have a demo! Took it out yesterday.
Just what you would expect. Small, powerful, easy as hell to flick through turns and aimed at track days not touring i.e. uncomfortable around town.
Quickshifter action was near perfect. Great brakes, light clutch.
Don't think it was run in, so I only sampled the upper mid range revs and the power was fantastic. The exhaust note is unbelievably, spine chillingly one of the best ever from a stock pipe. No need to fit an aftermarket pipe - save your money for a change.
Seat was hard as rock and your feet cramped up your arse, but that's what people seem to want for track use.
ps- The Speed Triple R arrives in a week or so.

Got a customer who's traded his Streetfighter "S" on a new APRC Tuono with us. His opinion is that the Aprilia's a vastly better bike, despite the fact it's almost a 10K cheaper bike.

Fark that's a big statement but no one would know better than the owner of both

Road my mates V4 APRC Tuono with the full $-4k Akropovic Titanuim GP system ... Gen2 TTX36 rear shock fitted & modified front forks & the Factory Aprilia race mapping & have to say it was different would have to spend abit more time on it to find its rhythm , but the suspension setup was shockingly over done to the point I had to readjust it when we came to a stop which transformed the whole bike & feel instantly ... The power & quick shifter was excellent & the front end feel very positive over all a 8.5 - 10 Looking forward to the RSV4 factory

The yellow is a strange colour scheme in my opinion. I'd have the silver and red :)

They certainly are, but I was tempted for a yellow for a while.
I get mine this week, Yeah Baby!
Oh and in terms of MD's comments on how cramped it is. Its wierd how I find it roomy at 6'4", and MD (at about 5'9"??) finds it cramped. Must be down to leg and arm length making making the angles different. The V4 seems only a little smaller than the V2 Tuono, and I had no issues when I rode it.
Seat was quite hard, but then the suspension didn't have much bump absorbtion, so the compuslary revalve should elleviate most of that issue

I'd be keen to know what kind of fuel range you guys are getting. Would they get you around East Cape without traumas?

Went out for a ride yesterday and we took both our X plane R1 and the new Tuono.
Ummmmm....this thing is effin ridiculous fun in the tight stuff!!
The quick shifter makes a superb exit from every corner and I managed to utilise every part of the APRC's.
I love the R1, but just not as much as I dig this V4 Tuono

It's worth mentioning that the quick-shifter kitted V4 sounds simply orgasmic as it passes by (all at legal speeds, of course). Could this bike possibly be the most fun you can have with your pants on?

I am running a powercommander 5 version, but if you just want the quickshifter the translogic one seems to be the go. Some company sells them down the line there about $600 and don't require a power commander or something similiar to make them work.

Great to hear you are enjoying the new toy. They look fantastic in yellow/black. You lucky man have some of the best bike roads on your door step!
Just curious, living in Wananka where do you have to go for servicing, tyres etc and where is your 'local' Aprilia dealer?

I looked at jakewilson.com in regard to getting some Michelin road pilot 3 for the tiger 1050. Shipping for a set of these comes to $140 usd. I would not say that's cheap. Tyre prices are great, but the hit for shipping takes all the gloss off and you end up saving bugger all. You still gotta factor in gst too. My experience is that I am getting pinged more and more.
If I got in two sets for example, shipping would go up another 100usd. So 240 usd for shipping.
Is this what you have been paying? Or do you have a special deal going?

I thought long and hard about one of these, an got offered a demo bike for a good price but only 160km max out of a tank takes the gloss off it. Researching owner experience shows that the claimed 17 litre tank has a useable capacity of only a little over 15, coupled with a seemingly over optimistic range computation has caught a lot of people out. If they came with a few more litres I would have plumped for one, but I'm liking the SP3R.
These things are only $12999 in the states aka $15k NZ, that's a hell of a margin on NZ bikes.
How's the bike going now Dickie, since you've got few km on it?
It's not hard to get more than 160kms out of a tank...have done 210 before the fuel light came on before.
I still maintain that it is the best sports bike for the road that I have ever ridden or owned and I've ridden most

I don't doubt it. You must of been pootling to get 210. Everything I could find showed that the range was a lot less when riding "normally", mind you that was US data, I don't know if the NZ bikes are specced differently?
