Scooter parking rules in Auckland?

Are you allowed to park a scooter on the same stands where bicycles are parked?? got a $40 ticket today for a motor vehicle being parked on footpath or cycle path although it was not on a foot path and you cant ride cycles though bike stands.. Is it worth fighting it?? THANKS

Still interesting that the 3 scooters parked in the 10minute parking bay for the day didnt get tickets.. hmmm looks like i am going to have to pay :(
