Yeah, I thought after I created the poll I should have made it Did you/ Will you
I've also emailed the pussies at BRONZ asking what they are going to do to support or publicise it. I'll be interested to see if they can interrupt their latte drinking long enough to reply

If it's a work day then I'll be taking the bike. Just seems to be the weekends that I can't get out to play.

Ride to my work - there's lots of cafes in the area (Ponsonby) so if you decide to be a "latte-drinking pussy" at least there's lotsa choice.

Bugger, have to second Big Dave's comment here! And that is not a day I have to be anywhere for work, so I'll have to do the same and go for a ride around the block - with a few detours, of course, as our block is only about 20kms!

I'll ride to work that day (all things being equal). Hopefully by then, I'll have clocked up enough kms to have the confidence to ride in the wet/wind that's bound to be in Welly.

I commute every day, can I stay home that day?
So I've got less than 2 weeks to get a bike to avoid being called a wimp by Ixion...
I walked to work today, took me an hour - normally takes 40 minutes but I'm so out of shape after riding the buses lately.
Would love to ride to work - every day.

I ride just shy of 70km a day, commuting to work through Auckland traffic. I also use the bike 99% of the time I am going somewhere without the family, rain hail or shine.

I seem to remember a ride to work day in Auckland for human-powered bikes a few months back. They all met in Aotea Square for tea and buns at 08:00 then toddled off to work.
Oh look, Google found it:
http://www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/whatson/events/biketowork/default.asp
Why don't they do something like this for real bikes?

Good idea that man, have an orang-utan. Could we organise a grand KB meetup somewhere (maybe two or three might be needed in different compass points? ) Could get some good press coverage out of it, which all helps public awareness of bikers.
Any thoughts on this suggestion - obvious date would be the 20th ?
Good chance also to meet other people .
Thoughts ? Comment? Interest ? Maybe an AFTER WORK meetup instead ? (Ride home from work day ?)

Hmm if I rode my bike all the time the cage would be a rust heap (probably deserves to be that anyway :motu: )
I do like the idea of being dry when I get to work or mit and not having to change gear over, Listen to music on the way to drown out the sorrows of the shitty weather outside.
Mind you I do have a good thing about riding in bad weather or the frosts - Least I don’t have to get the hose pipe on the cage every morning to clear the windows, The bike is kept in the garage where it deserves to be at night :Punk:

Nope - I'm ashamed to admit I didn't/couldn't. I had to drive someone around during the day/evening.
I did think about it though - and isn't it the thought that counts?
