Hi all. As the result of a hit and run on the 1st of July, I am still home nursing a shattered arm and hand. My bike 2007 SV1000) was written off and my riding gear did an amazing job. I still remember the shock of being hit at 100kph, tumbling down the road and seeing my poor baby totalled. The biggest shock was watching the elderly cage driver drive off without seeing if I was alive!!!
Any way, this site is giving me hours of entertainment, my replacement bike is sitting in my garage calling to be ridden, and I'm alive.
Looking forward to being part of the KB family. And watch out for the cages!!!!!

Firstly, welcome to KB.
.....and secondly, you replaced an SV with another SV?

Well done for surviving that. That would have been awful. Did they ever get the guy that hit you?

Suzuki owners are obviously not as relaxed as Honda owners:love:

that sucks. presumably if he hit you at 100kph and drove off, there was damage to the car? Have the po po tracked him down, or did they take the easy way out and slap a ticket for careless use on your forehead before the ambo got there?
also, ouch!

You think Suzuki riders are bad, you should try Harley riders, can't shut those bastards up, always going on about their tractors.

That is because they are not as 'stretched'.

Mr plod said nothing they could do unless the driver comes forward (as if that is ever going to happen). And yes, The SV is a great bike. I use it as daily commute between Cambridge and Hamilton and look forward to a blast in the weekend. Lots of power and torque without the surprise "kick in the face" of the TL1000. I do agree that the looks are either love it or hate it and it does resemble a giant preying mantis. The sound with yoshi slip-ons is beautiful!!!!!

I agree, I like SV's too (used to own a 650). I quite like the naked SV ThouL under rated bike I reckon.
